Yesterday I got a couple of dodgy calls that felt like scams. I cut off the first one straight away and blocked the number. Then later on, another call came through from a number that was quite similar so I blocked that one too. It’s frustrating because you wonder if there’s any way these scammers can be tracked down and stopped. Loads of folks around my age don’t really know how to protect themselves online or on their phones like I do.

So I got a call from someone saying they were from BCS London, apparently doing a survey or something. When I asked what exactly they were about, she got a bit annoyed and said she was having trouble understanding me. Not very impressed with how it was handled, felt a bit off.

Pretty sure the number’s fake - it looks real but isn’t - and they’re pretending to be legit. Best just to hang up or tell them they’re talking nonsense. Definitely annoying and could be risky.
