I just had a rather dodgy experience with what seems to be a spurious debt collector. They wouldn't disclose their company name when I asked, which certainly raised my suspicions. Definitely a scam, if you ask me!

Got two calls on my mobile a few weeks back while I wasn’t home - left a recorded message asking me to ring a premium rate number. They also left messages on the landline asking me to call the same number, saying I owed money, which I don’t. Didn’t bother calling back and blocked the number. Now I’m getting similar calls from different numbers with the same message. Going to block those too. Sounds like a scam to me (or a really bad company). If they keep it up, I’ll have to see what legal options I have to stop the hassle.

08454145503 - Got a call from this number on my mobile earlier, but they hung up straight away before I could say anything (caught a woman’s voice saying if I press 5 I could speak to sales, then it cut out). I know now I shouldn’t have called back, but I did anyway, since I’ve had loads of silent calls from this number before, but this was the first time I actually heard someone speaking. I’ve been on the TPS for years on both my landline and mobile, but it clearly doesn’t stop these annoying calls at all! Completely useless service!
