I must admit, while I was there, I might have exchanged a cheeky glance with a scruffy lad in orange overalls who seemed rather preoccupied adjusting himself through his work attire. Returning home, I was met with a rather brusque call from Three. They wanted to know why I'd cancelled my Direct Debit. I feigned surprise and explained their SIM simply didn’t work, and I hadn’t chucked it into a landfill. I cheekily suggested that the chap at the recycling centre could back me up, as he seemed quite taken with me. I judiciously omitted mentioning his pastimes, as it might lead one to assume our conversation was of a more intimate nature. The representative, whom I assure you I was not involved with in any form, was overly curt. He insisted I should have sent the faulty SIM back in a brown envelope. I know the sort of shady characters who deal in brown envelopes, and something about the whole exchange struck me as off. So, I swiftly concluded the call and summoned the butler to whip up a fish and cucumber melée for our tea. Now, these persistent callers from Three keep ringing, but I’m simply playing coy. I tell them she’s not in, and I haven’t the foggiest when-or if-she’ll return. Knowing her type, likely on some escapade with the lad from the recycling yard, avoiding those pesky debt collectors while I remain here, safe and sound.
