I came across another fraudulent phone number today. Interestingly, last week I received a call from a similar number (08453417010). It appears to be an automated call originating from a company dealing with PPI Claims. These scammers seem to be targeting individuals in London, including my colleagues at work. It's important not to return the call, as it is a premium rate number and they could charge you as much as £1.43 per minute. Beware of this scam!

When I received a call, I eagerly picked up the phone but there was only silence on the other end.

I refuse to take calls from numbers with strange prefixes like 0845, 0843, and so on. To keep these numbers separate from my regular contacts list, I save them as "Z FkOff 1" (and then assign numbers like 2, 3, 4, etc.) This way, these calls appear at the bottom of my contacts and don't disturb me. If these callers try again, I can easily identify them and block them. By consistently doing this, they eventually understand my message, and as a result, I receive fewer unwanted calls now.

I always treat these persistent callers the same way-allowing them to drone on while they waste their resources. I simply ignore any prompts to press 5 or 9 and then swiftly add them to my blocked contacts. Job done!
