Got a call from this number too, and just last week something almost the same came through, but from a number like 08453417010. Pretty sure it’s one of those PPI claim firms using automated calls, ringing loads of people around London - my workplace included. Definitely don’t ring it back, it’s one of those premium line numbers and they’ll rip you off charging around £1.43 a minute... total scam!

I picked up the phone but there was total silence on the other end.

I just ignore calls from odd number beginnings like 0845 or 0843 they always seem dodgy.
I put them in my contacts under names like Z No Thanks 1, Z No Thanks 2 and so on, the Z at the start means they stay at the very end of my list where I won’t see them much. When they ring back I spot them right away and just block 'em. After a while they stop calling and I get way less nuisance calls these days.

Received a call from 08453417010 on my mobile on Wednesday, 13th January, around midday. It turned out to be one of those PPI nuisance calls. As if I’m bothered! I always treat these persistent callers the same way-allowing them to drone on while they waste their resources. I simply ignore any prompts to press 5 or 9 and then swiftly add them to my blocked contacts. Job done!
