So, I handed my number over to some agency in Kent and Medway that offers free advice about civil law. Not long after, like half an hour tops, my phone rings from 0845341700. It was suspiciously quick and they sent a link as well. Pretty sure it’s a scam, watch out!

Got a call from this number early today, around 8 in the morning. The caller ID showed some rubbish name but when I looked it up on Bing using my call app, it said it was MACS Gaming. Honestly, these calls are driving me mad!

Oh yeah, just typical scammers again. The annoying part is I’ve got my number on the Phone Preference Service list, but it’s totally pointless. They’re basically powerless and do nothing. When you try to complain, they ask you for the caller’s identity. Seriously? How’s that supposed to work when these dodgy calls hang up straight away and you don’t want to get charged for calling back? It baffles me why these people get paid tons and can’t just find out who’s behind it for us.

Sounds like one of those premium rate scams to me. They call, let it ring a few times, then just hang up hoping you'll call back. When you do, your phone bill ends up with loads of extra charges. A mate of mine got stuck with a fairly big bill from something like this. It wasn’t massive but more trouble than it’s worth to fight it legally, so better to just write it off. They seriously make a killing doing this crap.
