I got a call from a company called Abacus or something similar (I swear she said Adidas at first, but that can't be right). They were trying to get me to buy a Times subscription. We already subscribe to the Times and actually do read it, but they didn’t bother to check that, which was annoying. The other day I got a ‘household survey’ call and decided to answer the questions instead of hanging up. One question was ‘Do you read the Times?’ Honestly, I’m quite disappointed in the Times for using this kind of service. Makes me think we might need to switch to a different paper.

Honestly, with a two-month-old I'm still nursing, the thought of wine couldn't be further from my mind, nor is your magazine for that matter! This needs to be addressed with more urgency - it should really be made illegal to prevent these unscrupulous callers from causing distress. It’s particularly concerning for the elderly or those living alone. It feels like there are people profiting from these scamming tactics. We simply cannot allow this to continue any longer!
