I received a call from a rather eloquent gentleman claiming to be an events coordinator for a firm called Alliance. He mentioned they were arranging one-on-one consultations with financial advisors in my locality, supposedly to clarify the recent updates in government financial policies. To be honest, I suspect this might be a scam aimed at pushing some questionable pension release schemes. I’d advise caution - it’s best to steer clear and not partake in any of their meetings. If they reach out to you, simply inform them that you’ve already got a financial advisor and that your financial matters are rather private, so they can kindly pass along.

I received a call from a woman keen to discuss an upcoming event. I couldn't help but interject, asking her why she was reaching out to me since I'm on the Telephone Preference Service list. She replied, "Oh, we're not trying to sell you anything, which is why we don't go through TPS." I mean, really? It’s hard to believe that one!
