My son has received a few phone calls from this number. Unfortunately, he can't pick up while he's driving. He suspects it’s from the CSA. Yet, when we try to ring back, all we get is a recorded message requesting us to call back within their designated hours, which they kindly provide. Quite peculiar if you ask me! It's as if someone left the answering machine on and wandered off.

This number rang me a few times, and I finally called back. It went to an answerphone with a message claiming to be from the Department for Work and Pensions. It all felt a bit dodgy to me. They've left similar voicemails at least three times already saying who they are but it just doesn’t seem right.

Got a call on my cell, then a bit later another one on the same number, some woman saying she was Anna from the DWP looking for a Jason Holist. If it’s about the Child Support Agency, well all my kids are with me so their info is totally wrong! This was before 10 in the morning on 4th April 2015, during the bank holiday weekend.

On the 9th of March, I got a call from 0845 266 8793 when I was out. I’m pretty sure it was a wrong number since I’m quite private about my brand new number - only a handful of people have it. When I dialled back, I realised the last digit should’ve been a 2 not a 3. A quick Google with the corrected number popped up something about Child Benefit. I’m 64 and have never been married, so that’s just weird. Feels like a scam to me. The government really needs to step in and make a law that outright bans these nuisance cold calls - it should be illegal!

Got a call at the office from someone claiming to be with the Dept of Work & Pensions, asking for an employee's address. I told them I couldn’t just hand over private details without some sort of ID. So now I’m waiting on a fax from them to confirm they’re legit before I go any further.

Honestly, it’s a joke - I’m not even named on my son’s birth certificate because she didn’t want me there. They put “unknown” as the dad, can you believe that? Then, of course, once cash comes into it, she’s suddenly after more money and the CSA are after me, even though I’m not officially recognised.
