We've had a call from this number just the once, and to be honest, they didn’t even allow us the chance to pick up! It seems like there are several prefixes starting with 0845 cropping up around the same time and being flagged here. I reckon this might be a bit of a scam to coax you into calling back, as they pocket a fee from 0845 numbers. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

I've had three calls from this number within the space of a week. On two of those occasions, as soon as we answered, the caller hung up without a word. The most recent call featured a male voice, which I suspect was West African in origin. He merely greeted us with a "Hi," then cut the line. It honestly feels like this might be one of those scams making the rounds from Nigeria lately. Does anyone have any idea when this could have possibly occurred, especially with it being an 0845 number? It definitely gives off a very shady vibe!

Just wanted to add to my earlier post: I received an email the other day from someone named Diane Lennox, which I’ve shared below: 'It was dispatched on the 1st of August. Should you wish to request another copy, there will be a £10 fee. Best, Dianne Lennox Buchanan Clark and Wells Team Leader Collections Tel. 0141 221 4567.' To be honest, we haven’t received the bill we originally requested, and now they’re asking us to fork out a tenner for another one to be sent! Is this company for real?

Received a call just moments ago from someone asking for a Miss Ball, which isn't anyone we know or anyone in our home. The caller claimed to be from a company called BCW. When pressed for details about how they obtained our number, he was quite evasive. I did a little digging and it turns out BCW is a debt management firm based in Glasgow. The chap certainly had a distinct Scottish twang!

We’ve had three calls from BCW regarding a debt they claim we owe to EDF. They’re a debt collection agency representing the major utility firms. It’s quite baffling how relentless they are, especially since we're already in discussions with EDF regarding this bill.

Crikey, Joe, that sounds quite alarming! I really appreciate the heads up. However, in our situation, we’re completely debt-free and haven't got any financial obligations hanging over us. It still strikes us as something rather dodgy, doesn't it? If it were legitimate, surely we’d be able to call that number back without any hassle!

Sarah, when these bills hit the twelve-year mark, be sure to take a look at your credit report to find out when these folks first marked you as a default. Just a heads up-the legal limit for chasing these debts is six years. We’ve had BCW hounding us for what they claim is money owed, but we've never responded or admitted to any debt. Their time to take action runs out in September. Come October, we’ll finally get back to them and let them know exactly where they can stick their demands. BCW, what a lovely organisation. Not! They are relentlessly pursuing us over a debt that we don't even owe, linked to esure insurance. When we switched our vehicle, these folks cancelled our policy, claiming they don’t deal with imports, and assured us that there was no cancellation charge. Now, however, BCW insists that we owe them money for these supposedly non-existent cancellation fees. It’s quite disheartening that the simplest solution seems to be to ignore those 0845 numbers. The real conundrum, though, is how to distinguish which calls might actually be significant, as it appears that just about every company has adopted the 0845 prefix these days!

I've recently encountered a couple of calls from these numbers. One was from what I believe is a Kwik Fit about checking our tyres-number 08453006900. The other was from a debt recovery agency, but the funny thing is, we don't owe a single penny to anyone (08000242062). Is it possible we've found ourselves on some sort of call list?

We've been receiving calls from BCW regarding an ancient debt from over a dozen years ago, one we didn’t even realise existed! They’ve even obtained a County Court Judgment against us for it. It’s relentless, with calls coming in as often as four times a day. These folks aren’t interested in having a proper conversation; their sole focus seems to be on chasing us for money, regardless of whether we actually have it or not!

Is it really feasible for these individuals to track you down after you relocate? It seems they're trying to pin a bill on us from one of our student residences, but it was actually the tenants who occupied the place after our time that should be responsible. I'm pondering this since we've shifted houses ourselves. Might we end up with any negative credit consequences from these folks? Or should we take the route of contacting the service provider to have them pursue the previous tenants? Quite frankly, that sounds like a lot of bother that we’re not really in the mood for.
