I got a call but the moment I picked up, they just went quiet and then ended it. My mum had this weird call too, exactly the same. Maybe it's one of those call centres from India or somewhere else, not sure really.

I usually just ignore calls from numbers I don’t recognise. If it’s important, they’ll leave a voicemail or find another way to reach you. It’s better to block them straight away and not ring back - it could be a trick to make you pay for calling back. Lately, I’ve noticed a lot of dodgy calls coming from 0800 numbers on my home phone, which is pretty sneaky since that number is supposed to be free and unlisted for us. Honestly, these sites and the blocking features from our phone companies have been a lifesaver. Blocking is definitely the way to go.
