I picked up the phone, intrigued since it was a premium line. To my surprise, it turned out to be a pre-recorded message. There was no mention of any company, just a nondescript prompt asking if I fancied entering a competition-press 9 to affirm or hang up if you’re not interested. It gave me the impression that these might be con artists trying to trick people into missing their call and ringing back, as many might think the number is legitimate. However, those 0845 numbers usually rack up about 10p a minute when you call. Quite the cheeky tactic if you ask me!

I keep getting calls from this number over and over again. It's strange because it barely rings before they just drop the line. I've been tempted to ring them back, but I’m not quite sure what to make of it.

I had an extremely brief phone call from this number that resulted in a message stating 'missed call.' The duration was far too fleeting for me to pick it up. Just yesterday, I encountered two similar calls from different 0843 numbers; again, both were too short to respond to and left me with a missed call notification. It seems to me that someone might be attempting to lure unsuspecting individuals into dialling back onto some pricey lines. Feels a bit dodgy, don't you think? Probably spam!
