I got a really weird call the other day. When I picked up, a voice recording came on saying something like ‘your number is now verified. Goodbye.’ Very odd, don’t know what that was about.

Looks like a dodgy call trying to get you to call them back! Definitely a scam in my opinion.

The phone only rang briefly before cutting off, probably hoping I'd ring them back. Didn't want to risk it costing me loads, so I've just gone ahead and blocked the number.

They tend to ring and then just cut off before you even get a chance to pick up, so there’s no way I’m ringing them back. Honestly, calling people for marketing without them showing some interest beforehand should be banned altogether.

they do cold calls all the time. it’s like they want you to ring them back, so technically you’re the one calling first, which I guess means they’re not breaking any data privacy rules or whatever.
