I've been inundated with calls from this outfit, ringing me around five times a day for the past fortnight. I finally decided to pick up this evening, only to discover it was one of those firms probing about PPI claims. I explained that I had never taken out PPI, but she persisted, refusing to accept my response. In the end, I had no choice but to hang up on her.

I just had an irritating chat with a rather rude bloke. He kept mispronouncing our name and, despite our repeated insistence that we weren’t keen on this debt management scheme for recovering any PPI payments, he wouldn’t take the hint. When we finally attempted to end the conversation, saying we weren’t interested, he continued to push, claiming he could recover some money for us. Even after we hung up, it felt like he was still clinging to the line for ages. What a nuisance!

I received a call asking for my husband, and I informed them he wasn't available. They then inquired if I was Mrs, to which I responded with a rather pointed 'who's asking?' That’s when it all kicked off. I explained that we've never taken out a loan in our lives, but this was apparently unsatisfactory for them. They insisted they must speak with my husband to verify my claims. I told them firmly that they absolutely do not need to, as we've never requested their call in the first place. I then insisted on speaking to a supervisor. Lo and behold, he returned to tell me my number would be removed from their records-of course, I’m not holding my breath on that one. These companies are a real nuisance, aren’t they? It’s baffling that we can’t put a stop to this, considering how much we fork out to our phone providers. And what’s the point of the TPS if it doesn’t deter them at all?

This number has been quite persistently ringing us, a total of seven times over the past couple of days. We, however, chose not to answer any of those calls. Strangely, they haven’t attempted to contact us again since then. Our advice? It's best to avoid taking calls from numbers you don't recognise. Always better to err on the side of caution!

Someone has been ringing me up four times today asking for my lad. The first call was in the morning and then three more calls all within a couple of minutes this afternoon. The same bloke phoned the first three times and got a mouthful from me each time, then a different bloke called the last time and got the same treatment. I don’t usually swear on the phone, but honestly, this time I felt it was well deserved!

The bloke on the line reckoned it wasn't unsolicited because I'd done some survey and they got my details from that. I told him I never agreed to that and I wasn't interested. This number has been calling me a couple of times today at least (I was out shopping so maybe more calls I didn’t catch). They seem pretty sneaky, using a friendly tone and asking for me by my first name like they’re a mate. Both times my husband picked up and when they asked for me by name, he asked who it was and they just hung up straight away.

Someone rang me claiming I was due PPI compensation and offered to help me claim it back - for a fee, naturally. They asked if I was a Ms Collett, which I obviously wasn’t, but I played along and said I was. They then rattled off an initial that wasn’t mine, which I pointed out, and he asked me to confirm my real name. Oddly enough, later on in the chat, he started calling me “Michelle”. When I asked why, he said it was the name of the person he’d just been on the phone with before me. That really got my goat, so I told him straight up that I wasn’t Ms Collett and I wasn’t happy being referred to by a name I hadn’t given them. I had no clue where they got their info from, but it was clearly bogus, and I said they should seriously question where their data was coming from - though I reckon a lot of it’s just made up. When I asked him to remove my number from their list, he then said he’d have to talk to * Collett to get that sorted out!!!! Complete and utter scam!

I just got off the phone with a PPI firm that’s apparently in Exeter. The usual number they use is 01392 353101. I ended up speaking to the bloke in charge and told him to delete me from their list or I’ll take legal steps for harassment. Will be interesting to see if they actually stop calling now.

Got a ring from this firm about PPI the other day. The bloke claimed he was ringing from Wales. I told him straight I’d never had PPI myself. He came back with some rubbish about it possibly being hidden and that I might not be aware. I said I’m a financial advisor, so I’d know about these things. They keep ringing me even though I’ve told them several times that I’m a) signed up with the TPS, b) have never had, nor do I carry, any PP loan insurance, and c) I already reported them once to the TPS for breaching regulations and will definitely do it again whenever they call. I’ve also asked them to delete all my info from their system and stop contacting me altogether. The person on the phone claimed they aren’t cold callers, which makes no sense because I never asked them to ring, plus I never give out our unlisted number. When I explained again that I’ve never had the insurance they’re trying to sell, she suddenly wanted to talk to my wife instead. That really annoyed me, so I lost my cool and yelled at her to remove my details from their database and to NEVER call again before slamming the phone down.
