Got a letter today about the Teachers Pension Scheme but I've never been enrolled in it. I'm just gonna ignore it and see what happens.

Just got a letter like that myself. FYI, the legit teacher pension office is in Darlington, and they use another phone number entirely. This letter mentions 65 Gresham St, London EC2V 7DQ, with the phone 0845 120 8213. Seems dodgy, probably trying to phish info either over the phone or through some site like [#]verificationonline[###]/teacherpensions. Be careful!

I got a letter outta nowhere that said it was about me being part of The Teachers Pension scheme. It had a website and a phone number to call if you wanted to hand over personal info. I've been retired for ages and this doesn’t feel right at all. Not too sure about how safe that website is, and I’m really uneasy about calling that number. Sounds fishy to me, like it's probably a scam.

Initially, we were quite concerned that this number could have been a scam. However, it turns out to be a legitimate call from a company aiming to track down former educators who may be eligible for a pension. They're acting on behalf of a body named Teachers' Pensions. Interestingly enough, we learned that my wife was entitled to a modest pension that had been accumulating for the past seven years, not to mention a little windfall too!
