I was looking through some of the comments here and this same number called me earlier today. I just let it ring out cos now i just dont pick up if I dont recognise the number. Its easier that way. I only bother answering if it shows up as someone I know saved in my contacts. That’s how I keep it simple.

I reckon these calls are set up so if you ring back, they can charge you about 45p a minute. Apparently, the money goes to support the Islamic State over in Syria. So if someone stays on the line for like two minutes, it ends up costing about a pound, and with that cash, supposedly they can buy around seven AK bullets. Pretty dodgy situation if you ask me.

Don't call back these numbers, they're just looking to earn off your call at 45p a minute. From what I've heard, the cash ends up supporting groups like the Islamic State in Syria. Spending a couple of minutes chatting means you'll be shelling out about a quid, enough to buy 7 ammo clips for an AK. Best just to ignore and hang up.

It baffles me how these sorts of scams continue to thrive in this day and age, especially targeting mobile users in the UK-truly appalling! I really feel that the UK government and telecom companies like O2 ought to step up their game to safeguard us consumers. If I end up facing charges just for not picking up that call, I won’t hesitate to take legal action against O2!

What a load of nonsense! I got a call from this number on my mobile, and by the time I managed to pull it out of my pocket, the caller had already hung up. A couple of days later, I got a rather alarming text from my provider, O2, saying I had to fork out over £120 within 24 hours to keep my phone active. When I reached out to them, they informed me I had surpassed my credit limit due to a call to a premium number (08450044140), which apparently racked up a £74 charge. Despite my protests about never making that call, they firmly stated I was responsible for that hefty sum. Totally ridiculous!

What a complete con! I received a call from this number on my mobile, and by the time I managed to whip my phone out of my pocket, the caller had already ended the call. I simply shoved my phone back in my pocket, thinking nothing of it. Fast forward two days, and I get this alarming text from my provider, O2, saying unless I cough up over £120 in the next 24 hours, my phone would be cut off. I rung up O2 to get to the bottom of it, and they informed me that I'd gone over my credit limit after supposedly calling a premium number (08450044140), which had racked up a bill of £74! I firmly disputed having made that call, but they’re adamant that I need to pay up the £74 or face the consequences. What a right pickle!
