If you could share the email address that Worldpay provided, I'd really appreciate it! I'm finding it quite tricky to get in touch with them over the phone regarding a similar issue. Last night, they deducted £26 without warning, and it was flagged by our automatic fraud detection system linked to our ICUK phone account. Cheers!

I've noticed an additional charge of £24 on my bill linked to this number, which I’ve never even used. Can anyone shed some light on what might be happening?

I recently received a bill from TalkTalk, and shockingly, there was a charge for over £55 on my account linked to a rather mysterious number. I reached out to Worldpay, and they were aware of this overcharge and promptly offered to refund the amount. However, I can't help but wonder why Worldpay didn’t bother to get in touch with me beforehand to alert me of this fraudulent charge instead of keeping mum. It seems rather shady! I genuinely believe that the national press ought to delve into the questionable practices Worldpay employs, which lead to unsuspecting small businesses facing such unexpected charges. I run a modest fishing tackle shop in Aberystwyth, Mid Wales. If anyone's facing similar issues, feel free to reach out to me on 01970611200.

I recently checked my email and, to my utter dismay, discovered an alarming charge on my phone bill relating to a Worldpay terminal that appears to be incessantly dialing into a 'PREMIUM' service for updates. After being a loyal customer of Streamline for a remarkable 33 years, I never encountered such a fee prior to Worldpay’s takeover. It's downright scandalous that, having rented the terminal from them, I now find myself facing these exorbitant charges for something like an update call to a premium number. I intend to draft a formal complaint to their customer service and will certainly demand reimbursement for these excessive fees that seem unjustifiably imposed on small businesses like mine.

Cheers for the warning, everyone! I’ve just noticed an extra £29 charge on my bill, all due to their problems with updates back in mid-November 2015.

I encountered a similar issue myself. I contacted WorldPay, and they provided me with an email address to resolve it. You'll need to make a photocopy of your invoice, include your merchant number, and request a refund from them.

I've found myself grappling with a similar predicament regarding my BT phone bill. Over the past three months, it's logged an astounding 19 calls during the small hours of the morning, with a staggering 9 of those calls occurring on just one night! One chat went on for nearly 70 minutes, racking up a bill of £5.90. After reaching out to BT, I've been told that Worldpay is the one to blame. They mentioned something about the terminal being updated at that time. One would assume the calls would be "incoming" rather than the terminal making "outgoing" calls. It has all the hallmarks of a software glitch-unless there's something else at play here?

I’ve been using a Cardsave terminal for yonks, now rebranded as Worldpay. For ages, I’ve noticed little charges popping up on my phone bill around midnight, which I assumed were test transactions. However, this month has thrown me a curveball, revealing three transactions linked to the number 0844 9940388, broken down as follows: - 11th November, 00:27, duration 2.11 minutes, costing £0.362 - Same date, 00:34, lasting 1.12.17, racking up £11.748 - Again, 01:47, for 3.30 minutes, which set me back £0.592 Total: a whopping £12.702! This seems a rather hefty sum to be deducted while I’m fast asleep! Cheers, Christine [email protected]

Back in January 2015, I terminated my contract with Worldpay and sent the terminal back to them in February of that same year. Yet, here we are, and this number continues to pop up on my phone bill even now. I've made a few calls to their customer service and I'm preparing to file a complaint regarding all the excess charges I've incurred. I mean, how can it be that a terminal I haven't had on site for nine months is still contacting them? Unfortunately, they cannot seem to provide any clarity on this bizarre situation!

I've encountered a similar issue with Worldpay. I've tried reaching out to them multiple times, but their support hasn’t been very useful. Can anyone advise me on who I should get in touch with to sort out a refund?

I was utterly alarmed when I glanced at my recent phone bill and saw that it had shot up unexpectedly within just three days. It turned out my WorldPay terminal was trying to download an update but was stuck in a loop of incessantly redialling. I reached out to WorldPay about it, and while this particular number wasn't listed on their known issue registry, they were quite understanding and provided me with an email to request a refund. No hassle whatsoever, and their customer service was top-notch! After diving through my previous bills, I discovered that this number pops up every month, but it usually only incurs a charge of roughly 30p.

I've just noticed a £20 charge for a phone call on my BT bill. After having a word with my card processor, it turns out that they dial this number for updates. One of the calls lasted over an hour! Thankfully, the card company is giving me a refund for that.

I've just realised that the early morning calls I’ve been receiving from that 084499038 number are actually from my World Pay card machine! It’s been ringing non-stop for close to an hour, and I’ve racked up a bill of a whopping £24! If this is happening to you, don’t delay-get in touch with your card machine provider immediately to request a refund!

This particular number has shown up on our shop invoice repeatedly, and the timing of these calls was rather peculiar. I reached out to TalkTalk for clarification, but they suggested it might be linked to a third-party service, like our security system or a fax machine - which, let’s be honest, is absolute nonsense! I initially thought I’d give them the benefit of the doubt, but it's dawned on me that I was misled! I’m in the process of composing an email to them, complete with screenshots of the bills, demanding a full refund and looking to switch suppliers!

Absolutely appalling experience with this telecom outfit! They slapped an additional charge of £33.00 on my bill for a single day's usage from 4:08 am to 10:50 pm (08449940338). I haven’t even used this number, and to make matters worse, I can’t get a response from them. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy!

I would strongly advise against using Bes Telecom. They're quite dubious, to say the least. I've experienced unexpected charges with them, and their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. It's been nothing short of a hassle!

I've experienced something similar! I received a call on my business line in the dead of night, between midnight and 3 a.m., when the shop's all locked up tight. It makes me wonder, who on earth are these callers, and what’s their game? We've got a Worldpay card machine, but I just can’t wrap my head around how they’re getting through like this. It's all quite baffling!

I’ve just glanced at my Virgin Media statement, and I noticed this number appeared twice at some ridiculous hour in the early morning when nobody’s awake to make calls. Upon investigation, it turned out to be linked to my Cardsave terminal. I need to provide evidence of my bill, and then they’ll resolve the matter. A lovely lady on the other end was quite apologetic after I went off on one!

I recently went away on holiday and discovered some peculiar calls logged to this number during the early hours, between 3 and 7am, racking up a total of £16.56. According to TalkTalk, we’re liable for these charges as they were made from our landline. I insisted that no one was at home to make those calls. A mate of mine kindly popped round to check everything, and thankfully, all was in order. TalkTalk claimed it was related to a card machine (Ingenico) but refused to issue a refund. The service is now terminated, and we’re struggling to find any assistance regarding this issue. We plan to return the machine and are in search of a new phone provider that can prevent such occurrences in the future. It’s so frustrating-another holiday marred by worry!

I manage a quaint little shop equipped with a Payzone terminal, and I've noticed a troubling pattern. There have been numerous calls, predominantly racking up a mere 3 to 4 pence, but some have astonishingly exceeded £4. What’s particularly bizarre is that all these calls are being made in the early hours while my shop is securely shut. This can't possibly be above board, can it?

I was charged £48 for one night. The folks at Ingenico, those who handle card machines, suggested that I get in touch with this number?? G...f... TalkTalk ought to issue a refund. If they fail to do so, I’ll have to create a Facebook post to warn everyone to steer clear of Ingenico and TalkTalk from now on!

I’ve taken a gander at this month’s detailed phone bill, and it appears to be heftier than normal. Lo and behold, I’ve stumbled upon a multimedia number, 0844 9940338. The call was logged at the ungodly hour of 5.30am, well before our shop even opens at 9.30am. It seems to have gone through our card processing machine, making it all the more puzzling. I’ll be ringing up the phone provider tomorrow for some answers. By the way, has anyone else managed to secure a refund for something like this?

We've got a quaint little shop in a shopping centre. Strangely enough, we keep receiving calls in the wee hours when the entire mall is securely shut up tight, leaving us and everyone else completely locked out of our premises! It feels rather dodgy, doesn’t it? Surely, this borders on something illegal, right? There's absolutely no way we are footing the bill for these mysterious calls. I'm absolutely livid!

This number has certainly left me feeling short-changed-£15.62 including VAT, if you can believe it! On a brighter note, I’ve been handed a name for claiming my money back. I can't believe it, but I've been hit with a charge of £9.04 over just three days! I haven't dialled this number at all, yet it appears that my card reader from Streamline is the culprit, making these strange, unexpected calls on its own! The bill lists it as a special number - I mean, can you imagine? Six calls managed to get racked up in a single day! What a right palaver!

This particular number is being used by Merchant Services Terminals provided by CardSave, who seem to be collaborating with Streamline and WorldPay. It's worth noting that installing an ADSL Filter won't stop these terminals from dialing into this Premium Rate number. As a newcomer to the CardSave experience, I’ve crunched the numbers and reckon the savings I'm racking up on rental fees for the terminals will simply offset the expenses incurred from calling the 08449940338 line. We're talking around £13 a month, which adds up to roughly £150 a year. When I signed up for the CardSave service, I specifically asked if all calls would be directed to Freephone numbers, and I was given a firm assurance that this was indeed the case. Yet here I am, feeling quite let down. Welcome to the lovely landscape of rip-offs in Britain!
