Got a text from Barclays about an £880 charge to FREELANCERUK, just like loads of others here. Tried calling them but was stuck on hold forever, like 30 mins or more! Quite frustrating really.

They contacted me saying there was a supposed unpaid bill that I never actually dealt with.

Got a text about 880 quid supposedly from Barclays, but the number began with 0844 so I figured it was dodgy. Didn’t bother calling back or anything, just deleted it straight away. Seems like a scam to me.

Got this text saying: Did you just try paying 880GBP to FREELANCERUK? If yes, reply Y, if not ring 08448844648 straight away. I’m not even a Barclays customer, so this has to be a scam. Just ignore it!

Got a text from Barclays asking if I’d approved a big payment. Wasn’t me, so definitely a scam.

Got a message on my phone asking if I made a big withdrawal from my bank and to ring the number they gave if it wasn’t me. Tried calling back but I was left waiting on hold for more than half an hour and no one ever answered. They said it was from Barclays but I checked with them and they confirmed it’s just a scam.

Had a message asking if I'd made a payment of 880 GBP to FREELANCERUK, saying if so to reply Y, if not to ring 0844 884 4648 at once. Rang my bank but they had no clue about anything like that. Pretty confusing!
