They contacted me saying there was a supposed unpaid bill that I never actually dealt with.

I got a text about 880 quid from Barclays, but I thought it seemed dodgy since it began with 0844. I didn't bother calling the number and just dismissed the message altogether.

Just got a message saying, "Did you authorise a payment of £880 to FREELANCERUK? If so, reply with a Y, but if not, please ring 08448844648 without delay." I don’t even bank with Barclays, so it's clearly a scam!

I received a text on my phone inquiring about a significant withdrawal from my bank account. It prompted me to call back on the provided number if my response was negative. I tried to return the call and was left waiting on the line for over half an hour, yet no one ever answered. Apparently, it was supposedly from Barclays Bank, but they have confirmed it's a scam. Quite alarming, really!
