30th January 2014, Gordon from Nottingham I received a call from this number for the second time today. I attempted to use 1471 but was met with a persistent dialling sound, making it impossible to connect with anyone else. Is this some kind of scam where they’re trying to charge me for the call? One would think BT could trace where the call originated from.

Today at 11:20 AM (3rd September), I received a call from a number I didn't recognise, so I opted to let it roll over to the answer machine. To my surprise, it claimed I was first in line for some sort of response, repeating this message incessantly until I finally decided to unplug the phone. I couldn't help but think it might have gone on indefinitely if we hadn’t been around to intervene. Does anyone have any tips on how to prevent this from happening again?

Whenever I pick up the phone for this particular number, I’m met with someone loudly exclaiming "hello" multiple times before abruptly cutting off the call. Most recently, I heard a woman exclaim, "Oh for goodness' sake!" After I asked her not to use such language, she promptly ended the conversation again. Quite bizarre, really!
