This number isn't a scam, I must confess. While the rates are a bit steep per minute, they are indeed functioning as a collection agency for HMRC. I found myself in a bit of a pickle after being overpaid on my working tax credit, and instead of sorting it out properly, the tax office made an almighty mess of things. Fast forward a year, and out of the blue, they finally acknowledged their error and tasked Advantis with reaching out to recoup the funds. They were fully clued up on the amount I owed and had my personal details to boot.

Just had a rather suspicious call from a mobile number, urging me to ring back on 08448241815 with some sort of urgency regarding a credit matter. When I did call, I made it clear that I had no affiliation with them whatsoever, nor had I ever taken credit out with their company. They pressed me for my name, but I firmly declined to provide any details. It all seemed rather fishy, and they presented themselves as Advantis Credit! Definitely raised a few red flags for me.
