Earlier today, I received a rather peculiar text from the number 08448222412 claiming that there was an issue with an overdue Barclaycard account. The message urged us to ring the number to discuss our options. Considering that neither of us has even applied for a Barclaycard, it struck us as rather dubious. We decided to investigate further and discovered that this number appears to be a scam. As soon as you dial it, they hit you with a hefty fee of £4.99 per minute! So, I implore you all-do NOT call this number if you receive a text like this. These scammers are just out to empty your pockets!

I received a text message regarding my Barclaycard, so I decided to give the number a call. A pleasant lady on the line clarified that it was a call centre based in the UK and mentioned that they reach out for a variety of reasons. To our relief, we found out that there was no charge of £4.99; it was simply a local call rate.

I received a call from 0844 822 2412 claiming to be linked to Barclaycard regarding an overdue account. However, I'm certain that Barclaycard doesn't have that number in their records. Quite suspicious, wouldn't you say?
