It’s becoming quite tiresome, really. We seem to be bombarded with an automated message at least four times a day. Honestly, we just end up hanging up every time. These callers are clearly associated with companies that don’t last more than a fortnight before disappearing. Complaining doesn’t seem to make a shred of difference because BT and other providers couldn’t be less interested in our plight. It seems there's a financial gain in allowing these con artists to disturb our peace, fattening their wallets while keeping themselves afloat. But mark my words, with the way things are headed, these shady operators won't be around much longer!

We pressed the number two on our keypad and managed to connect with a real human being. Turns out the company responsible for these calls is 'Financial Solutions'. We asked them to remove our number from their records, and the person simply replied, "No problem, cheers," and then abruptly hung up. We're in the dark about when, or even if, our number will be taken off their list.

Liz, I appreciate your suggestion about lodging complaints with BT every time one of these callers rings us up. However, if truth be told, it seems unlikely they’d take any meaningful action. To be honest, it feels like we’d just be wasting our breath and precious time on hold. As someone else pointed out, BT is quids in with this whole situation!

For several months now, I've been inundated with calls from this number, starting off as withheld. We decided to apply call barring for all withheld numbers, but it seems we've hit a snag, as the 08446860958 number keeps making an appearance. I've started getting these blasted automated messages about government debt assistance ever since I settled my account with a debt recovery agency called 'credit solutions' for Barclaycard. It's quite likely that our phone number has been shared with the lot sending out these dodgy messages. We've signed up with the Telephone Preference Service now, so let's hope that does the trick and they finally leave us alone. Virgin Media has been absolutely useless; we told them about the nuisance, but apparently they're powerless to help us! Typical, isn’t it? We’ve avoided calling that number since Virgin has a cheeky charge for 0844 numbers. Quite the hassle, I must say!
