My phone keeps getting calls from this number like four times every single day, it’s starting to get really annoying.

I dont have caller ID on my phone, so everytime it rings i assume its some kind of scam. Tonight was the first time i got a recorded message instead of a live caller. If it wasnt for that recording, i probably would have told them off with some proper nasty language like i do to the others. Seriously, why doesnt everyone just do that?

I’ve been on the TPS list for more than 15 years now, and out of the blue, I’ve started getting these unwanted calls claiming I’ve got a background in some industry or whatever. Thing is, I’ve never worked in that kind of field at all. It’s really frustrating that someone’s gone and shared my ex-directory number despite being on the TPS.

I just got a ring from this number, but I never bother answering. Best move really, ‘cause picking up just lets whoever’s on the line know it’s a real number, and then they sell it to every scammer and nuisance call centre out there. When I finally get a live person, it’s usually just dead silence - proper annoying. I prefer to just ignore it, wait for the call to drop, then call 1471, jot down the number and look it up online to see what kind of rubbish they’re trying to get me caught up in. Honestly, about 95% of the calls I get are like this nonsense. This number popped up on my phone just now, but I never answer unknown calls - it’s a bad idea as it just confirms your number is active and then it gets peddled around to every scammer imaginable. That’s probably why you sometimes just get silence on the line. I usually let the phone keep ringing until they hang up, then I dial 1471 to check who called, jot the number down, and do a quick Google search to find out what kind of rubbish they’re trying to pull. For me, over 95% of these calls are nothing but rubbish. Honestly, one day I hope we can banish all these annoying pests to some faraway planet, so they stop bothering the rest of us!

Just got a missed call from this number, but I never actually answer when I don’t recognise it. Worst move you can make is picking up - it just confirms your phone is active, and then the number ends up being peddled to all sorts of dodgy folks. That’s why sometimes you hear nothing on the other end. Best bet is to let it ring out till they hang up, then ring 1471 and write down what number called you. A quick Google search usually reveals what kind of rubbish they’re trying to pull to annoy you. For me, about 95% of my calls are from these sorts of people. I got a call on Wednesday, 24th June 2015 at around 7.25pm. It was some sort of recorded message mentioning working in a loud workplace or something like that. When you hit 9 to stop the calls, it might either link you to another number or just confirm that your phone is active. The caller ID showed as unknown.

How do these scammers get hold of my details when I’m on the TPS and my number isn’t in any directory? It makes no sense. These dodgy companies ought to be shut down and their methods outlawed! I’ve never asked for any of their rubbish services and never will. Yet somehow they keep passing around our info and pestering us nonstop. I seriously doubt any of these calls are legit, and I don’t know a single person who actually signs up through these annoying blitz tactics.
