This number rang my TalkTalk home line and I swear I didn't call them back. Somehow it ended up costing me £1.13 for a call that went on for about 5 minutes. Pretty sure it was my voicemail that picked up the phone.

Got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC, said it was about tax evasion. Definitely sounded dodgy to me. Pretty sure it’s a scam.

i've never come accross anything so dodgy, ringing up folks who might not even realise they’re getting a call, and then talk talk have the cheek to accept payments from people who only spot it when their bill arrives. how is this even legal? this feels like a proper scam and surely should be dealt with by the police. shame on talk talk for not putting an end to it, if they wanted to, they could. so why isn't it stopped?

While sorting through my late mother’s documents, I discovered she had been spending money on 0844 and 0871 service numbers, with some calls dragging on for as long as ten minutes. It’s quite disheartening to see such practices, especially considering her age - treating a 90-year-old in this manner is rather unacceptable.
