Today, this number sent me a text message.

So someone called me pretending to be from Barclays, saying there was a charge of £3350 at Tesco on my card today. They told me to call 08443753649 2 back. The weird thing? I don’t even bank with Barclays! Definitely a scam.

I got a message from Barclays asking me to ring this number, but it just wouldn’t connect.

Got a text claiming to be from ‘Barclays’ saying there was a suspicious charge on my card and asking me to ring them. I checked my account and there was nothing unusual, so I’m pretty sure it’s a scam where they’ll try to get all my personal info and passwords, and before I know it, my account could be cleaned out. Thought about ringing back just for a giggle, but it’s a premium rate number, so that’d end up costing me a fair bit. Might just give it a miss instead.
