I received a notification that I had a text on my landline, but when I attempted to retrieve it, I found I couldn’t dial the number as it seems it doesn’t exist. I’m quite anxious about the possibility of being charged for an incoming call, as it has rung two times already.

Got a text message on my landline asking me to call 08443585862 to get a garbled message. When I rang it, it just said there’s a fault and to try again later. We didn’t bother. Is this some kind of scam or just a useless company?

I'm absolutely knackered from receiving calls from this number and would really appreciate it if they could be put to a halt.

I recently stumbled upon a Markwort whistle on Amazon that piqued my interest. The one that seems to be the most powerful is the Storm whistle, but they also offer a compact model known as the Wind Storm, which reportedly packs quite a punch sound-wise. The Storm whistle is said to be brilliant for emergencies and can even function when submerged in water! Just thought I’d share that bit of info.

I received a voice text prompting me to press 1, but there was no actual message left. It gave me quite a fright since I was anxiously awaiting an important call. I decided to ring the number back, only to hear a generic message instructing me to reach out to the retailer regarding my delivery. It’s clear now that this was yet another scam attempt.

They rang and just dropped the call - blocked the number straight away.

Got a voicemail on my landline saying it was a text and to press 1,2,3,4, etc but none of the options took me anywhere. The message mentioned phone number 0844 3585862 which I never dialled. Using 1471, it showed the call came from 03333 440000. I did receive a Hermes parcel today so maybe it's connected to that.

Got a voicemail from 3333440000 that told me to press 1, 2, 3, or 4 to hear some message. Tried all the numbers but none worked at all. At the end, it said to ring 08443585862 if I wanted to respond. I looked up that number and found it's linked to scams. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

WAITING FOR A PARCEL? I got a recorded message saying I had a text and to ring 0844 358 5862. But when i did a 1471 check on the callback number, it showed 03333440000 instead. Someone else mentioned that number might be linked to Hermes, the courier, for confirming delivery details. I actually received a parcel from Hermes today as well, so I reckon it was them sending the original automated message about the text.

I received a dodgy call from an overseas number, claiming that they had a text message waiting for me. They wanted me to call a premium rate number to supposedly get hold of this message. What a con!

I've encountered quite a few issues with this number, so I've decided to just give it a miss and hang up without a second thought.

Every Tuesday night, around the same time, I get a text to listen to something but I never do. I just ignore the phone each time but it’s so annoying. If youre signed up with TPS, why dont they block these calls? They make out like big fines are given out to stop this rubbish but clearly it’s not helping. Does anyone know how to complain to TPS about this?

I’d really appreciate it if these calls from this number could come to a halt - I’ve no idea who’s on the other end!

This number called me at about 8.23am today, but all I could hear was some weird, jumbled message that made no sense at all.

Ridiculous. They rang us at 7:21 on New Year’s morning. My wife picked up and it was just some recorded message saying "Happy New Year". The number looks like one of those expensive lines - no clue if just answering costs you!!???

It presented me with an option to push any one of four different keys. However, the moment I spotted the number on my screen, I swiftly decided to end the call.

Absolutely scandalous! They rang me at 7:21 in the morning on New Year's Day. My wife picked up the phone only to hear a message wishing us a "Happy New Year." It's clearly from a premium rate service-who knows what we might end up being charged just for answering that call! How utterly ridiculous!

They didn’t pick up, but it registered as a “missed call.” The number has a peculiar code, and I can’t shake the feeling that the caller might be involved in some dodgy dealings. It seems these chaps are banking on the fact that since the 2015 law was brought in, the average Joe can’t simply do a reverse lookup of any incoming number. Sure, they say it’s to protect us from harassment, but it feels to me like it just opens the floodgates for these scoundrels. If you want to unmask the caller, you’re forced to lodge a complaint with the authorities, which, ironically, might just reveal to the miscreants that they’re under scrutiny. Coupled with the new investigatory powers act, it makes matters worse, allowing “government bodies” to bend the truth in court and preventing the legal opposition from probing relevant issues. Quite the conundrum, isn’t it?

I received a call from an 'International' number that claimed to be sending me a text message. It was the typical "Press one" nonsense you always hear.

Clearly, it’s a scam since legitimate SMS messages via BT always come from 08456021111.

I've been receiving calls from the number 08005875290 quite a bit over the last few days. They leave a message claiming to be about an SMS, saying I should press 4 to prevent any further messages from them. However, despite following those instructions, the messages just keep pouring in! It's incredibly frustrating!

Happened to me as well, got a blank text with nothing written in it.

We continually get text messages on our landline, urging us to give them a ring.

It tells me theres a voicemail but never actually plays it, total waste of time.

This was just like all the others, saying there’s a parcel but giving a website link that makes no sense. I called them back but luckily didn’t stay on the line too long. No idea what they’d try to charge me for that. So glad I found this site, it’s a relief not to stress about missing something important. Cheers to who-called!

This number has rang my office phone like 50 times since yesterday. It's really getting on my nerves. The caller keeps going on about some text and a bunch of digits. Pretty sure it’s one of those auto diallers.

So this is the number that pops up when you get a text on what looks like a landline, usually from BT. It just forwards the message to you, nothing dodgy about it. Pretty normal really.

I've been receiving calls from this number at ridiculous hours, typically during the night. They insist that I should ring 08443585960 to get a text message. Oddly enough, there's an option to press '4' to opt out of their text messages, which I've done. Yet, despite taking that step, the incessant calls just won’t stop!

I got a robotic message that was totally unintelligible, with a tracking code rattled off so fast it was like 5 numbers every blink, lasted like 4 seconds tops! If this is meant to be real, their entire customer support team deserves to be shot out of a cannon wearing those old fashioned pyjamas.

I received a call from this number, followed by a blocked SMS. I've decided to ensure I don’t receive any further annoying messages from them, so I've used the code 14258 to block the caller entirely. It’s quite simple-just ring 14258 straight after their call, and voilà, the number is added to your blocked list! It works for any pesky numbers that might disturb your peace. Give it a whirl! I believe you can block up to ten different numbers with this method.

Got a call at 10pm with a voicemail full of random digits that meant absolutely nothing, so I just deleted it and didn’t bother replying. I never pick up or get back to any numbers starting with 08. Fingers crossed they eventually see it’s a pointless effort.

Complete botheration! This number keeps calling me daily and it’s getting rather tiresome.

Got a voicemail with a supposed tracking number that was 16 digits long - completely ridiculous, no legit company would have such a long number. Took me forever to catch it after replaying about six times. The website they mentioned after "www" was just nonsense, probably on purpose so you'd end up ringing the 0844 number they gave, which no doubt charges a fortune and could lead to more pricey calls. Honestly, avoid this like the plague!!!!

Received a cheeky call from this number during my shift today. The accompanying text informed me that my rent was outstanding! Clearly a bunch of con artists, as I've got no rent issues whatsoever. To top it off, they don't even identify themselves!

I got a message recently saying I had applied for some sort of benefits and that I’d find out the result next week. Thing is, I never applied for anything like that. The text didn’t have any name, no callback number except the one it came from, and no details about who was sending it. Seems dodgy to me! A proper organisation like the DWP wouldn’t contact folks in that way, I’m sure it’s a scam.
