We've been receiving messages via voice that urge us to recycle plastic bags, and the last couple of them had a similar eco-friendly focus. This particular number pings us every other day at exactly midday. Are we incurring any charges by dialling this number? The 1471 service revealed the number as 0800 587 5290, by the way.

I received a rather puzzling text this Friday afternoon, stating that "our delivery from Buy this Direct would arrive sometime between midday and five o'clock on Saturday". However, my workplace is actually shut over the weekend. What’s more baffling is that we've never placed an order with Buy this Direct in our lives! On top of it all, the number 0844 358 5858 doesn't seem to be listed on their customer service contact page anywhere. It seems rather tedious and sneaky for someone to concoct such an elaborate ruse, doesn’t it?

I received a call from these folks claiming I had a text message waiting for me. They said if I wanted to get it, I need to ring the number provided above, which is likely a premium rate line. Given that our friends and family only send texts directly to our mobile, we won't be taking the bait on this one.

I've just received multiple calls from this number, and they've cluttered our answering machine with a load of incomprehensible drivel about text messages. If you attempt to call this number or follow their prompts on the keypad, brace yourself for an exorbitant phone bill - it's clearly a scam!

Called us six times, nothing but utter nonsense!

Absolutely not! This number belongs to Frederickson International, a debt collection agency based in London. It seems like the authorities have turned a blind eye to their incessant harassment of individuals. They tend to bombard you with automated messages urging you to give them a call. Stay vigilant and don't engage with them-it's best to report their antics to the police instead.

I've been inundated with a barrage of irritating and perplexing text messages. To top it off, I was jolted awake at the crack of dawn on New Year's Day by a bizarre message simply stating "Four". The source of this annoyance appears to be the accounts department of AQL. Details are as follows: AQL 11-15 Hunslet Road Leeds LS10 1JQ Their website: www.aql.com Caller ID: 08443585858 Identified as AQ Ltd.

We received a call to let us know that there were no messages waiting for us? Quite the strange occurrence, I must say!

Absolutely! We received the exact same nonsense; these blokes rang us four times in a span of three hours, then again the next day at a rather ungodly hour of 7:11 in the morning.

Indeed, it's Fredricksons you're dealing with - a firm that specializes in debt collection. These individuals operate as though they are untouchable and have amassed a shocking number of debts that are dubious at best. Honestly, just brush these chancers off. Their strategy revolves around instilling fear in people to extract payments, irrespective of whether a debt is genuinely owed. Keep your eyes peeled, Fredricksons, because the long arm of the law is swiftly closing in and you’re sure to find yourselves in hot water before too long! (Referencing Furgoson v BGas, Enterprise Act 2008 and the like).

I received a call from these folks, and a pre-recorded voice started off by saying we had a message to listen to. As soon as I pressed play, it turned out to be all about repairing a bicycle! Quite unexpected, to say the least!

Every time we pick up the phone and greet them, they just hang up! It’s truly INFURIATING!!!

Absolutely, it’s the Fredricksons lot, isn’t it? A debt recovery outfit that seems to take the law into their own hands. It’s quite concerning how they operate, preying on individuals and conjuring up dubious debts. I’d advise steering clear of these chaps - they embody the notion that harassment is a viable business strategy, often hounding folks regardless of the legitimacy of the so-called debts they claim are owed. Keep your wits about you, Fredricksons; the legal system has a way of catching up with those who think they are untouchable! (Think Furgoson v BGas and the Enterprise Act 2008, among others.)

I've received multiple calls from this number over the last three days. It's getting rather annoying!

On Sunday, 17th July 2010, at the rather early hour of 7:00 am, my phone rang unexpectedly with a curious call from 0800-587-5290. The automated voice instructed, "Press 1 to listen to a message that was left for you on... (?? date)." Naturally, we pressed 1 out of sheer curiosity, only to be greeted by the exact same message once more, which prompted us to hang up in bewilderment. This isn’t the first time we’ve encountered such peculiar calls; a similar incident occurred a few weeks back. I can’t help but wonder, are these baffling calls racking up charges for us? And is OFCOM taking any measures to put a stop to these unsolicited ringing interruptions?

Received a voicemail on our landline from 02031478372, urging us to ring 08443 585858 as it was supposedly quite urgent. I had a hunch it might be dodgy, so I jumped online for a quick search. Turns out I’m not alone in my suspicion! That 0203 number is definitely from London, which adds to the red flags!
