Just thought I’d chime in with my two cents! I’ve come across some rather unpleasant comments on this thread regarding TAPA, and it really got my goat! I signed up with them back in June, and I can confidently say that the incessant calls to both my office and mobile have ceased entirely. TAPA has truly performed exceptionally well, and I’d like to encourage any businesses out there struggling with pesky advertising calls to give TAPA a try. They’ll take care of those bothersome interruptions for you!

We jumped on board with TAPA last year, and I must say, they've exceeded my expectations. The nuisance calls have dwindled to almost nothing, and that’s including the three invoices we received from some charity organisations, which were promptly cancelled as soon as we opted out through TAPA. I'm not quite sure what the other comments are all about, as my experience has been very positive with them-they're a reputable company, in my view.

It's quite baffling, isn’t it? They assist you in reclaiming those funds you might've lost to some dodgy scam, and their fees are just a drop in the ocean! I'm left scratching my head, really - where’s the catch? I’ve observed that the ASA has given a thumbs up regarding the website's compliance, and that ruling seems quite outdated. Doesn’t it strike you as odd that numerous reputable brands have found themselves on the receiving end of ASA rulings too? Are all these businesses really up to no good? At the end of the day, it's quite straightforward - just have a gander at their website. If their services align with your needs, fantastic! If they don’t, then simply pass on by. I'm really baffled as to what these folks can do to assist with recovering your funds if they're not operating within the bounds of the law! They lack any legal authority and aren't qualified solicitors, so I'm scratching my head over what sets them apart from ordinary citizens like you and me. Good evening, everyone! It’s brilliant to see you all taking action against those pesky telemarketers! I wouldn’t be surprised if it was those cheeky Mancunians and Scousers causing the bother! I had a right nightmare myself until March this year when I finally enlisted the help of TAPA ARMY! Has anyone else had a run-in with a firm from Liverpool named Independent Publications? They were the dodgy sorts who were flinging my details around like confetti to all the Scousers and those dodgy Mancs! Just curious if they’ve caused any grief for any of you as well!

I've been a customer of Tapa for two years and am now venturing into my third. However, they claimed they couldn't reach me, and as a result, they've withdrawn an entire year's fee from my card without my consent. This all came to light after they sent an invoice for monthly charges via email. Now, I'm in the unfortunate position of having to seek legal counsel to recover my funds.

For anyone who’s unsure, I’ve pulled out a few snippets from TAPA’s terms and conditions that might clarify things: 5. The Service Provider pledges to take appropriate steps to ensure that any unsolicited sales calls, market research inquiries, or silent and recorded messages originating from UK telemarketers are made unlawfully within 30 days from the start date of the Agreement. They plan to accomplish this by adding the Client’s details onto the various public opt-out lists available in the UK. Furthermore, the Service Provider commits to handling any lawful registrations required for the Client on an annual basis, where applicable, for the duration of this Agreement. In essence, their main action seems to be signing you up for TPS and Silentguard, both of which are entirely free resources. 35. It's worth noting that the Service Provider is not a legal entity, nor do they operate in any legal capacity or possess legal qualifications. They are simply an independent profit-driven business. They do not engage in contractual agreements or receive any form of licensing from government bodies to conduct their regular operations. Additionally, they have no affiliation or partnership with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the Office of Communications (Ofcom), or the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). They lack any form of legal power and cannot recover funds on your behalf. 37. The Client must acknowledge that they cannot hold the Service Provider liable if they continue to receive unsolicited calls for sales or market research. The Service Provider takes no responsibility for such instances and cannot provide guarantees that unwanted calls will not be made by unregulated or unprofessional telemarketers from time to time. Nevertheless, the Service Provider will strive to curb any further unsolicited communications once they are informed by the Client. So really, it seems they’re just pocketing your fees to handle a process you could very well manage yourself at no cost.

Isn’t it amusing how the previous comments rave about Mr S? It makes one wonder why his ex-flame, a former coworker, and a random passerby would all feel the urge to leave a note here. Hilarious, isn’t it? Looks like Mr S has far too much spare time on his hands! What a pity, really. The truth is, he’s strapped for cash, lacks genuine mates, and has a track record that isn’t exactly commendable-rumours even suggest he’s prone to violence against women and spends far too much time online, trying to inflate his own ego. Thankfully, he’s also devoid of any offspring-what a relief for society! Just picture this charity scammer, a rather unpleasant character with an inflated sense of self, trying to propagate his dubious lineage. Quite a horrifying thought, I must say! The silver lining is that the unfortunate souls who end up dating this repugnant creature usually see the reality of who he is very quickly and make a swift exit before it spirals further into chaos.

I've had a similar experience where my details were being circulated without my consent. It appears several businesses down my street faced the same ordeal. The Trade Association for Personal Privacy (TAPA) looked into the matter and discovered that a company named Empire based in Manchester was behind it all. They subsequently forwarded all their findings to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), who then took charge of the situation. Thank goodness those incessant calls to my shop ceased, as I often find myself alone and customers were leaving in frustration while I dealt with these relentless phone calls from a Manchester charity publishing firm. On a side note, I never had issues with Independent Publications; I understand they operate out of Liverpool. The problem was firmly linked to the Manchester network. Fortunately, the calls stopped altogether in early June, and I’ve enjoyed a peaceful atmosphere since. Let’s hope this nightmare doesn’t rear its ugly head again!

Absolutely appalling! Some lowlifes have managed to get hold of my girlfriend's credit card and drained £380 from her account. It's heartbreaking to think about how much this has affected our whole family; we're really feeling the pinch. We've reached out to the Citizens Advice Bureau, and they've confirmed that this is a blatant act of theft. The police are now on the case, trying to track these criminals down. Fingers crossed justice is served soon!

The home page included various tabs on the left offering additional details. The main page contained the proclamation: "TAPA assists with Nuisance Calls & Junk Faxes ... The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 is a UK statute which dictates that all organisations, including charities, voluntary entities, and political factions, must not conduct sales or marketing calls to telephone numbers unless they've obtained the owner's explicit consent." Further elaboration on this regulation was provided. The text continued: "The Advertising Protection Agency (TAPA) works to thwart unsolicited advertising and marketing sales tactics targeted at consumers and businesses opting out of such unsolicited outreach via telephone, fax, and email. Whether individuals wish to halt a single call or all unsolicited approaches, TAPA strives to ensure these marketing contacts cease permanently." A link labelled "STOP NUISANCE CALLS" was available. At the bottom, a note read: "Explore the links below for terms and conditions." The logo of the Telephone Preference Service was also featured alongside the assertion, "TAPA is an Associate Licensee of the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and has shown dedication to enhancing the standards and effectiveness of the direct marketing sector." A click-through link designated "Stop Nuisance Calls" directed users to a distinct page labelled "Stop Nuisance Sales Calls, Market Research, Silent and Recorded Message Calls To Your Phone Number" which included information on that specific service. At the bottom of this second page, the text stated, "For more details, please refer to our Terms of Service regarding a registration fee of just £2.25 a month for up to five numbers." A link below prompted, "Register Now." On the Terms of Service page, under "STOP NUISANCE CALLS," the information revealed, "The Client will incur an annual administrative fee to the Service Provider of £26.95 inc VAT upon the Agreement Date via credit/debit card payment to cover all associated costs including time, materials, utilities, postage of documentation, and any other expenses incurred by the Service Provider in processing new Client registrations for up to five telephone numbers. On the "Cancellation of Service" page, under "Nuisance Calls & Junk Faxes," the text indicated, "Should you have instructed TAPA to halt sales calls or junk faxes to your number(s), you may cancel these services within 7 days of your instruction to TAPA ..." **Complaints Received** The ASA acknowledged receipt of four complaints: 1. I can assure you, TAPA are absolutely legitimate. They stood by me in court when I faced off against BCS Multimedia and emerged victorious. BCS attempted to claim over £1300 from me. It was actually Trading Standards who recommended I turn to TAPA for assistance. The previous remark is nothing short of a vindictive falsehood. Frankly, I think TAPA are exceptional in what they do.

Can TAPA assist me in reclaiming funds that I suspect are lost due to scams from support publishing companies? Indeed, TAPA offers guidance to businesses on ways to recoup funds they’ve handed over to support publishing firms that have failed to deliver as advertised or have engaged in misleading practices-this includes situations where refunds have been denied or funds have been unlawfully deducted from one’s account. There are legal avenues available for recovering money even if a company has ceased operations or entered liquidation, as per various legislative measures and banking protocols. What's more, there are no extra charges for this service, and TAPA compiles this information into a detailed guide tailored for any business that reaches out to them. However, it seems that TAPA merely provides advice on potential recovery methods. They don’t actually perform any recovery actions themselves, as they clarify in section 35 of their service terms. 35. The Service Provider is not a legal entity and does not operate in any legal capacity nor are they legally qualified. I think that sums it up clearly enough!

I found myself rather bemused by the incessant stream of calls-between ten and fifteen a month-claiming that I had consented to support various “worthy causes” in my community through ordering advertising space in assorted publications and planners. The situation raised my eyebrows when I began receiving invoices from different firms, all for remarkably identical amounts, which set off alarm bells. Curiosity got the better of me, prompting a quick search on Google for some of these companies, and to my astonishment, I frequently stumbled upon the site for The Advertising Protection Agency. Their website seemed to be the sole beacon of clarity amongst the chaos, so I decided to reach out. I was relieved to finally converse with someone who elucidated what was happening, the reasoning behind it, and, crucially, how to put a stop to it. After an hour-long chat followed by some digging around on their website, it became abundantly clear that registering with them was the best course of action. So, I went ahead with it. It’s been nine weeks now, and I’m pleased to share that I’ve enjoyed a blissful three-week respite from those unwanted calls. At first, a couple of these unscrupulous callers left me in a state of panic with their menacing talk of doorstep collections, bailiffs, solicitors, and court actions. However, each time I faced an issue, I reached out to my appointed representative, who skillfully demystified the threats and put me at ease. TAPA genuinely know how to deal with these unscrupulous outfits. So, my straightforward advice is this: if you find yourself in a predicament similar to what I faced, do pay a visit to the TAPA website, peruse their information, and if you’re feeling uncertain about anything before signing up, don’t hesitate to give them a ring. They’ll provide the same reassurance and clarity that they did for me.

Hello, Oliver! It seems I fell victim to the Empire dodgy dealings too! They managed to squeeze two payments out of me for separate ads that they claimed I'd previously consented to-definitely not the case, mind you! The pressure they put on me was utterly overwhelming, so I caved in. Clearly, it’s some sort of swindling operation. Thankfully, TAPA managed to secure one refund for me via MBNA, and they’re currently battling to retrieve the other. It’s a relief to know you've managed to resolve your situation too!

I had a brief romance with Anthony, and I must say he was the epitome of a gentleman. Such a charming fellow! Quite generous, too, though he often underestimated himself. Sadly, things didn’t pan out for us; I began to suspect he was too attached, and when I started asking more of him, he eventually took the hint and moved along. I strongly feel that his main passion lies in his career, and if you dare to interfere with that or upset him during work hours, you're likely to find yourself out of favour. It’s fascinating how many people have him on their lips, even though he keeps himself to himself and avoids the limelight. He gives off this air of modesty, almost as if he is pretending to be less than he is. He’s had a tough upbringing, with the loss of his mother, yet he perseveres admirably. I often overlooked the solitary nature of his life and took his steadfastness for granted. He’s not the type to stray, despite having plenty of chances, though he can be a bit of a rogue sometimes. Nonetheless, he values his time with you. I genuinely hope to cross paths with him again soon.

He mentioned that they’ve issued a statement acknowledging a scam operation tied to the Advertising Protection Agency, located in East Cheshire. I'm currently with TAPA, and I must say, they've really managed to keep those pesky calls at bay for me. Their support has been exceptional, and I've received an abundance of counselling from them. I forwarded two invoices I received from those dodgy Manchester charity scam outfits, and they've taken it upon themselves to tell them to shove off on my behalf. It was quite maddening when I got bombarded with about six aggressive messages left on my answering machine over the course of two days, but since then, I haven't heard another peep from them. TAPA had warned me this would happen! To all the miserable souls leaving disparaging remarks about TAPA here, perhaps it's time you returned to the shadows from whence you came.

I’ve got a mate who’s in the real estate game over in Alderley Village, and they let slip that he’s a partner in one of the agencies there. I mean, what are the chances of two blokes named Anthony Simister living in such a small place? I reckon it must be the same chap. He has a way with the ladies and seems particularly smitten with slim, vivacious types. Plus, he’s really into flashy cars; you can’t miss the way he parks outside, making a right show of himself! I've noticed a significant improvement since TAPA intervened with the relentless sales calls that were bombarding my shop for what felt like an eternity-six months, to be precise. It took around two and a half weeks for the nuisance to finally subside, but now it's blissfully quiet. I used to be inundated with about seven to ten calls each week, so it's a relief! I'm baffled by the negative remarks about TAPA. From my experience, their customer service has been nothing short of stellar! I also checked the latest adjudication from the ASA, which merely mentioned that a handful of people believed TAPA's service was free. If TAPA were dodgy, they’d have been shut down long ago by the ASA-clearly, they’re operating above board!

Having perused the ASA's ruling, it merely points out that a specific section of TAPA's website could benefit from a bit more clarity. There’s no mention of them facing scrutiny, being taken down, or anything untoward. The fact that the ASA scrutinised their entire site and arrived at that conclusion only reinforces TAPA's legitimacy, doesn’t it? If there were any serious concerns, the findings would surely highlight them! I’ve noticed on the ASA's site that a multitude of major companies in the UK have been subject to similar reviews. This, I believe, further solidifies TAPA's credibility as the ASA hasn’t indicated any wrongdoing.

I’m employed at Sarafina, the restaurant in Wilmslow, where Anthony hangs his hat. He claims to be merely a consultant, not the proprietor, but Gregor, who also works there, mentioned catching a glimpse of the business account with Anthony’s name prominently featured on the bank statements. So, it stands to reason that he’s actually the owner, doesn’t it? It’s a bit peculiar, as he’s always popping in and out. That said, I can’t fault him; he’s genuinely a lovely chap, always courteous and never too busy to have a chat. It baffles me though why he downplays his role when, if I were in his shoes, I’d want the whole world to know I owned a restaurant! It’s like he doesn't care at all.

TAPA has managed to retrieve more than £400 for me, which I had forked out to some advertising companies that failed to deliver on their promises. It was my local Trading Standards that pointed me towards TAPA when I was initially swindled by a firm in Manchester. I'm thoroughly impressed with their service! As for those previous comments, they seem rather dubious-I'm inclined to think they're from fake accounts. There's no way those can be authentic testimonials.

I received a call claiming I owed them money, but I firmly told them I wouldn’t fall for their trickery. My documents arrived in roughly the same time frame, close to ten days. Fast forward six months, and I’ve now got a 'letter before action' saying they’ll drag me to court if I don’t cough up. Would you believe it? It turned up six days after the date noted on it, and according to their threats, they’d launch legal proceedings the very next day. Thankfully, I’m not facing this dodgy bunch all on my own!
