Despite registration with the Telephone Preference Service, many report these calls continue unabated. The fraudulent callers sometimes respond aggressively if challenged, demanding personal details such as full name, address, and date of birth. Spent over an hour trying to pick up the phone after 3 rings, eventually picked it up and it was this scam. Some American bloke spouting rubbish about a tax issue and a warrant supposedly against me. Said I should call back. Total rubbish.

Got a voicemail just now but my phone never even rang. The message said I’m wanted for tax evasion and there’s a warrant for my arrest. It really freaked me out. They told me to ring them back straight away but I just ignored it.

Totally the same here! Got a robo call telling me to ring back, looked dodgy right from the start. When I told them I wasn’t falling for it and called them out as scammers, they got proper rude and started cursing. Their English was all over the place and they couldn’t explain anything properly. Don’t trust these lot. They’ve called me twice now.

Keep getting calls from 08443570331 and 08443570376, people saying they’re from HMRC. The last bloke even said he was an officer! These calls are well out of control now. I’m signed up with TPS but they still keep coming through. I’ve told HMRC about both the calls and the numbers.

So I got a call from someone claiming to be Justin from HMRC. When I told him he was talking rubbish, he actually called me a ####! Now, my new hobby is ringing back on my landline and just messing about to waste their minutes.

He called me on my landline but wanted me to call him back on my mobile, so I’ll give him a ring later.

Beware of HMRC scams. They don’t ever ring you up with an automated voice like that.

Got a call saying HMRC have issued an arrest warrant for me. Quite worried, but I reckon it’s probably a scam.

I called him on his landline first, then he told me to ring him back on my mobile. I guess I’ll get round to it soon.

Got a call from what seemed like a bloke in the States, telling me I was dodging my taxes and there was a warrant out for me. Said I had to get in touch with them right away. Total nonsense if you ask me. HMRC uses a separate number, and just a few weeks prior, they told me I should be getting a refund. Definitely not legit.

I received a rather alarming voicemail from the number 08443570331, claiming that I've been involved in tax fraud and that an arrest warrant has been issued for me. I attempted to return the call, but it just kept ringing endlessly, eventually prompting me to leave a message instead. Quite the unsettling experience!

Got a voicemail a while ago telling me to ring back. I suspected straightaway it wasn't really HMRC because they'd never leave such messages. When I called, the bloke on the end could hardly speak any English and immediately demanded my full name, address, and date of birth! If these scammers actually want to fool anyone, they should at least try sounding like the real HMRC. Honestly, these con artists are just hopeless!
