They typically reach out just as your current contract is nearing its end, pretending to represent your provider while luring you in with tempting upgrade offers and supposedly better deals for your monthly payments. They really do ply you with information about your existing contract and its expiration, making them sound rather credible. However, the alarm bells should start ringing when they request your bank account details for setting up a direct debit over the phone, all while claiming they can't send you an electronic copy of the terms beforehand. If you press them for clarity, they'll eventually admit they're tied to the company Go Mobile. It makes me wonder just how many unsuspecting individuals fall for this ploy. The real red flag is that request for your banking information over the phone. It's a firm rule: never, ever share it!
