I attempted to contact MCE regarding insurance and found myself stuck on hold for what felt like an eternity. Imagine my shock when their quote turned out to be more than £150 higher than what I'd seen on comparison websites, even when providing exactly the same information. It was infuriating, so I tried a couple more times but ended up getting thoroughly annoyed with the dreadful hold music and decided to hang up. However, I gave it one last go since I received some texts advertising better deals. After an exasperating wait that totalled 86 minutes, I couldn’t shake the unsettling feeling that something wasn’t right, so I checked my phone balance only to discover those con artists had drained over £50 from me in call charges! Never again, I tell you! Be very cautious if you’re thinking of calling them.

MCE Insurance certainly left a sour taste in my mouth. Not once did they mention that the 84 minutes I spent on hold trying to terminate my policy was on an expensive premium rate line. After a couple of minutes of listening to drivel, I decided to hang up and try again. This time, a woman picked up and she could actually hear me loud and clear. Finally, I was given the green light to make my payment, only to discover it cost 25p per minute just to endure some truly awful music while I waited for someone who had a rather limited grasp of English to process my payment.
