This same number keeps ringing non stop - they really need to sort it out. I don’t pick up when it calls and often I’m not even near the phone. Since it’s linked to PPI, surely someone must know which firm owns this number, and they should be shut down or at least hit with a big fine for the harassment, if not worse. If a normal person started calling folks every day trying to get money off them, I bet they’d be fined or even thrown in jail. Seems like it’s all about who you know, not how you behave - typical!

They ring you from a pricey number, you block it and then they pop up on a different one. When you pick up and ask them to stop, they start using rude language. Trying to opt out just makes them ring you even more. Picking up seems to flag your number as active, so more scammers start calling. Their aim? To get you to phone their PREMIUM RATE NUMBER and line their own pockets, plain and simple. Definitely worth reporting to the ICO.

I never pick up calls from those 0843/44/45 type numbers. The text said something like "This is our last try to reach you." (Yeah, right, until they ring back again!) They tell you to press this or that and all sorts of things for some PPI that must be on its last legs by now, surely!? Fingers crossed.

Just got back from work and found loads of missed calls on my landline from this same number. Tried calling back but no one ever picks up, you’d think they’d eventually stop trying.

I got a call today, even though I've been warned several times before. When I asked the guy who he wanted to talk to, he started reciting the data protection act and told me I had to give my details. I didn’t want to say my name and asked them to tell me who they were trying to reach so I could pass the phone on. They repeated the data protection bit again. I asked to speak to a supervisor but they wouldn’t let me. Feels like a scam to me, trying to nab your identity. If they don’t know who you are, best to keep it that way.
