I've reported this to both Ofcom and ICO. At first, I didn't realise it was spam. I received a text claiming I could upgrade my O2 plan early and get a free iPad. I called the number, a woman answered, then put me on hold "checking stock." After a couple of minutes, I hung up. This is clearly a scam designed to make you ring a premium number, so they profit from the 0844 charges. Please, if you get texts like this, report the number and file a complaint here: http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/tell-us/telecoms/privacy/ Don’t let them get away with these unsolicited marketing messages.

Got a message about upgrading my O2 Pay Monthly plan early and being offered a FREE APPLE IPAD. Said limited stock, first come first served and to ring 0844 3308015 quick. Seems dodgy to me, so I’m also letting O2 know about it!
