I got a message online claiming to be from MICROSOFT saying my laptop was at risk of being hacked and I needed to ring the number straight away. I did call and ended up talking to someone with a strong Indian or Pakistani accent. Then they gave me another number and a name to ring back: Name: James Pool Number: 0808 164 4738 Ext: 2013 It really made me suspicious because the guy's accent didn’t fit with the name James Pool at all - doesn’t sound like a usual name from that region. Plus, his voice reminded me a lot of a bloke I heard from a scam using the “AMAZON” brand, which apparently is a known con. Just search “AMAZON SCAM” on Google and you’ll see what I mean. Any advice would be really appreciated, cheers.
