Today, on 31st July 2015 at 15:02, I received a phone call on my mobile. I chose not to answer it because the number appeared suspicious. After conducting a quick search online, it was confirmed that it was indeed a scam. It is rather infuriating that these deceitful individuals manage to target both our landlines and mobile phones. Given the availability of these numbers, one would expect the government to be capable of tracing these nefarious people and taking necessary action against them. However, this assumes that the authorities possess adequate concern for such matters.

Annoying, fraudulent, and deceptive. When you answer, you receive an automated message about a supposed refund that you are eligible for, and it urges you to call them back at a (most likely expensive) premium number!

Got this annoying automated call, seems like it could be one of those scams.

I got a call from this number but couldn’t pick up, so I tried ringing back from my landline since I thought it might be about switching my utility provider. When I called, no one answered and it was just dead silence. Likely another of those annoying ones about PPI claims, some crash that ‘just happened’, debts, or some fake gov scheme for free home improvements - same old nonsense really.

Received a couple of calls yesterday, and again today! It’s getting rather tedious. I attempted to send a message to let them know I'm not interested in any more calls, but couldn’t manage that. If this continues, I shall have to reach out to the telecoms ombudsman. - caller: 0843 9801261

Received a rather peculiar call on my mobile earlier. The chap on the other end was prattling on about some sort of claim for PPI worth thousands. To be quite frank, I didn’t stick around to hear the rest of it and cut him off mid-sentence. The number came up as 'Unknown', which raised my suspicions right away.

I’m really sick of strangers somehow getting my phone number. I keep it private, so how on earth do they manage to find it? Does anyone know a way to actually stop this from happening?

I have been receiving multiple calls from this particular number throughout the day, from early morning till late at night. I have not answered any of these calls, but the situation has become increasingly frustrating and annoying. This has been happening on a daily basis for the past four weeks.
