It’s clear these so-called recruiters just trawl job websites, scooping up phone numbers from people actively hunting for jobs (classic targeted marketing, I suppose). I uploaded a CV on Monster and Jobsite with a new phone number, and within a day, I was getting bombarded by these awful calls. Since that’s the only place I’d shared the number, it’s pretty obvious where they got it. My advice? Grab one of their ‘info packs’ to get some info on them and then report that company to the ICO (www.ico.org.uk). Spam calls and texts like these are against the law, and the ICO actually do take action against these nasty pests!

I keep getting calls on my landline from some automated system that insists they've got news about a law change that might let me write off debts, maybe up to around £10,000. They say I just need to hit 5 to find out more - I guess that’s how they try to get money off you. I’ve never wanted any of this and find the calls really annoying. I never signed up for their rubbish, and there’s no option to stop these calls - no unsubscribe button or anything like that. Honestly, when will authorities start punishing these robo-callers? Setting up machines to intrude on people’s homes with endless greedy spam calls is just wrong. These calls ruin what’s left of trust in phone calls altogether.
