My mate got ripped off by a call from this number. He only just got an EE contract, and then this number called and somehow used up all his 300 minutes by charging for 9 hours straight. He looks after his disabled daughter full-time, so he really can’t afford any extra costs like this. It’s such a cruel trick done by some proper nasty folks.

This number keeps popping up on my phone, and honestly, it’s pretty irritating. Most times I picked up, there was just silence on the line. But today, when I answered, an automated female voice started talking about me being eligible for compensation following a car accident. This is one of those dodgy automated calls about PPI. Total rip-off. The main aim is to get you ringing that number, which is set up as a premium line, so they can charge you loads per minute.

If you go ahead and try to make a PPI claim through them, they’ll just rip you off even more. Proper scam alert.

I’ve never seen this happen before. I had my main number listed as ex-directory, but now the same calls are bouncing through to my mobile. I’m retired, so it’s really getting on my nerves with these nuisance calls coming at me a couple of times each day. Anyone know how I can block or stop these?

Just got another call from some auto dialler, sounds like they’re fishing to catch whoever picks up first. If the caller’s name doesn’t pop up in your contacts, it means it’s someone you haven’t saved. Honestly, do you really want to waste your time chatting with some complete stranger?

I picked up the phone and it was a recorded voice saying something along the lines of, "Hello, our files show you might have been part of an accident in the past three years," so I just hung up right away.
