Currently attempting to deceive individuals in the city of York, a person is claiming to be Frank from the local publication "York Press." I have received two phone calls from this individual today. As a precautionary measure, I have reported the incident to York Press. Hopefully, they will investigate the matter and consider publishing a warning in their newspaper.

Beware of a scam! Our family home has received multiple calls, around five times already, from individuals trying to convince us to purchase the Bournemouth Echo newspaper.

I received several phone calls from this particular number today. Curiosity got the better of me, so I decided to answer. It turned out to be a gentleman inquiring about my readership of the daily echo Dorset and if I would consider subscribing. Clearly, it was a scam aiming to extract money, so I politely declined, explaining that I prefer to read news online. Surprisingly, he persisted and continuously requested my surname and house number, which I chose not to disclose. After researching further, I discovered multiple comments about similar experiences with this number posing as callers from Lancashire and Wigan. Clearly, this is a scam to avoid. It's also important not to attempt calling back as it's an unrecognized number and likely to have exorbitant charges. I hope answering the call doesn't result in any unexpected fees, as he rambled on for several minutes.

I just let the phone ring out every time they call, never picking up.

When I called back, it just ended the call straight away. I tried 1471 to see who was ringing but no luck getting through. Then I dialled the number it gave me and all I got was some recorded message saying the number wasn't known or recognised. Proper frustrating!

On one evening, this particular number rang six times and still failed to grasp the hint, displaying extremely harassing behaviour.

I received a call in which they provided information about a different address and postal code. I informed them that the address and postal code they mentioned were incorrect, and then the call ended. Shortly after, the same number called me twice, but there was silence on the other end, followed by disconnection. When I tried calling the number back, it was not currently available. I really hope that trying to call the number back hasn't incurred any premium charges.
