Hello everyone, Just a heads up - I've just discovered that this number used to belong to RBS! I dialled it since it was saved in my contacts, only to find myself charged a whopping £15 for the call. I lost my cool when no one seemed to acknowledge that this number was linked to their customer service or fraud department. I even took to Facebook to air my grievances and, lo and behold, they got back to me. It took some serious pushing, including threats to involve Watchdog and the HMRC fraud hotline, before they admitted it was indeed an old number. Ultimately, they agreed to refund the £15 charge to my account. I'm planning to escalate this matter further, as there should have been proper guidance on their end regarding their new contact number when I rang the premium line. If you've been stung by similar charges, don't hesitate to fight back and get your money returned!

Just twenty minutes after misplacing my bank card, I received a text message that caught me off guard. Having just deposited some cash, I assumed the notification was from my bank. The text read: "Thank you for using our service. Your RBS Customer Services contact number is 08436082198; please save this on your device. For terms, visit www.securerecord.uk." Naturally, I thought it was related to my recent transaction, so without a second thought, I dialed the number provided to report my lost card. They asked for my name and address, and in my moment of panic, I simply shared that information. They claimed to be affiliated with RBS, which threw me into a confused state-especially since I am a customer of Bank of Scotland, not RBS. If I hadn’t been so keen on dealing with the card issue quickly, I might have stopped to process what was really happening.
