BCC media are pure telemarketers. They try to push some dodgy magazine on you, mine was from Agora business publications, loads of different titles and topics, first issue is free but then they charge over £20 a month including postage. You’re tied into a full year subscription unless you cancel within the first 30 days. Their number is 01933 443322 so be sure to get the caller’s name, and if they’re rude, ring BCC yourself and ask to speak to complaints with all the info.

Tried to get hold of one of the Directors, but the caller kept messing up his name - bit of a shaky opening really. They claimed they had no access to email and insisted on speaking directly to the individual concerned. I then suggested they send the info by post, but they said that was impossible too. The call centre you lot keep mentioning, it aint cold calling at all. People just get annoyed cause they don't understand how it works. These call centres get your info from the companies you signed up with, or maybe someone else did it using your details. They're not doing anything illegal here.

They asked to speak to a Company Director by name, so I asked what the call was about. They said it was from Company Car Today, some kind of magazine. I said I wasn’t interested, then they asked if anyone drives a company car as they wanted to send a magazine. I told them again I wasn’t interested and ended the call. This is a total scam, don’t be fooled or hand over any cash because you’ll just get more calls from different companies trying the same trick. Watch out for these dodgy callers!

The caller appeared to be aware of my previous membership, and he contacted me right before a significant match began. Had a woman ring our office earlier today asking for our HR Director, claiming she was from some "Expert HR". She wouldn’t tell us even a bit about what she wanted and came across as quite stuck up and impolite. Kept insisting she had to chat to someone in HR to pass on her info. Honestly, if that’s meant to be professional, I doubt she could keep a sensible chat going - she just kept going over the same things like a broken record, proper dull!

They didnt say what company they were with, but gave the name of our operations boss. When i told them he wasnt around, they then wanted to speak to our health and safety boss. After i explained we use an outside consultant, they just ended the call on me.

Seemed quite believable at first, said it was from Autosport magazine - which I do read - about my subscription running out. I told ‘Adam’ I never actually had a subscription, as I like to support local, independent newsagents instead.

I rang the business number and started asking if I could speak to whoever handles Health & Safety. Before I could even finish, she just cut me off and hung up. So rude and really awkward, felt like a total waste of my time.

Got a cold call about payroll services. I told them we don't entertain unsolicited calls, and they fibbed saying they'd already talked to our MD. When I said that wasn't the case and asked for the manager, they just hung up on me.

They asked for the SENCO (I work in a nursery), and when I told them she was busy, they said "I'll call back later." Seems like they were probably trying to hawk something.

Trying to get personal details. At first it seemed genuine, she said she was from a business mag my husband has a subsription to & was just "checking some info". Using that as a reason she kept asking about hubby's company but it felt like she was guessing and just probing for stuff. When I started to hold back on answering, she got a bit irritable. Then she shifted to asking other stuff "for some audit reasons" and when I asked why she wanted that info, she just ended the call.
