5 yearsSunday morning at about 11, some woman calling herself from the Home Office rang me up, saying she needed to verify my EU settlement papers. Seemed fishy, if you ask me.EU6 yearsI've had several charges from 08435040495 appearing on my Utility Warehouse statements, and it’s clear there’s some sort of foul play afoot. This phone number seems to only exist for the purpose of billing, as I’ve certainly never made any calls to it. It raises alarm bells that someone seems to have insider access to UW’s systems to fabricate these calls. Each so-called ‘call’ is just a brief blip of a few seconds, yet collectively they’ve added up to an astonishing 27p a month. This is nothing short of a monstrous fraudulent scheme - I’m taking this further to Action Fraud and the police.UWAction Fraud6 yearsGot a call from a number I didn’t recognise, 08435 040495, with someone claiming to be from Amazon. He said someone in California was trying to open a second account using my name, and asked me to check what my IP address showed on my phone. Then he told me to download this app called TeamViewer. I got really suspicious and told him I didn’t trust him and asked for proof. He was actually pretty persuasive. Luckily, I had to end the call to get ready for a work meeting. After that, I looked it up and found out it was a total scam!AmazonCalifornia6 yearsGot a call from a bloke claiming we'd bought an iPhone for £399.99 and that we'd be getting a refund. We told him we hadn’t ordered anything like that and even checked my Amazon account during the call - nothing showed up. Pretty sure if I'd kept talking, he'd have tried to get my bank info. Total scam, don't trust these guys.Amazon6 yearsYeah, this was totally a dodgy call. My phone’s spam filter picked it up as soon as it started ringing. As some others have said, the woman on the line, sounding like she was from India and called herself Sowjayna, said she was my account manager and wanted to help with FBA stuff. I think I'd tried calling that same number when I was hunting for an official Amazon Australia contact before, so maybe she talked to me back then. The only thing she knew about was my current product listing on Amazon, no other details at all.SowjaynaFBAAmazonAustralia6 yearsSome bloke rang up pretending to be from Amazon, pushing me to sign up for some FBA thing. Total scam, obviously.Amazon6 yearsThey hung up on me after shouting, then when I tried ringing again I found out it was a premium rate number and got charged! Total rip off.6 yearsThis was totally a scam. The person said they were from Amazon. When I asked for a phone number so my manager could ring back, they said it couldn’t be given. Instead, they gave me an email like atsattar@amazoni###] - sounded really dodgy! They also mentioned they were located in India. Wouldn’t trust them in the slightest.AmazonIndia6 yearsSome bloke from India called me, claiming he was my Amazon manager, pushing me to use Amazon fulfilled to sell stuff. Felt fishy straight away, especially since I actually know who my real Amazon manager is. This has to be a scam, so don't even bother talking to them if you get calls or emails like that. I've already passed everything on to my genuine Amazon manager for them to sort out.AmazonAmazon Fulfilled6 yearsThey were claiming to be from Amazon and trying to push products on us. Knew a lot about our company but it was totally a scam.Amazon6 yearsWatch out for this number, it’s pretty dodgy and always after personal info.
