I'd steer clear of ringing or messaging this number again. Honestly, some folks seem to believe everyone is a bit dim. Thankfully, I'm not one of them! Turns out, the joke’s on the scammers, eh? 😂

Today, I received a rather dubious text claiming that I should contact Barclays at this number, warning me about an alleged £4000 transfer I supposedly didn’t authorise! It’s clearly a scam, especially since others have reported receiving similar messages lately. To top it all off, I don’t even have an account with Barclays! The message was riddled with errors as well, even saying "have your card details readly" instead of "ready." Quite the shoddy attempt, if you ask me!

Avoid ringing this number, it's a costly premium line. Even if you just wanna check it out, you'll get stung with charges every minute you're left waiting on the line. It’s definitely some kind of dodgy scam.

Don’t bother with those initial texts, it’s clearly some kind of fraud. I’ve never held an account at Barclays, so no idea what this is about. Best not to reply or ring back because it’s probably gonna cost you a fortune. The message said something like: “Did you try to move £4000 on 03/11/2015? If yes, text Y. If not, call 0843 289 3614 and have your card reader ready.” Stay well clear of that number - total scam artists.

Got a text asking if I’d moved a big sum of money into some bank account. They wanted me to call a number if I hadn't done it. Thing is, I don’t even have an account with Barclays. So just ignored it.

On the 2nd of November, 2015, I received a text asking if I'd tried to transfer £4,000. If only that were true, right? It's a laugh really, considering I don’t even have an account with Barclays and certainly not that kind of cash! Definitely a scam!

It didn’t take long to figure out this was a scam. I told the bloke I knew what he was up to and he started throwing every swear word he could think of at me. Then he threatened to turn up at my place later that evening. I dared him to give me my address, which of course, he couldn’t. Had a good laugh at that, and he kept insulting me a bit more before finally hanging up. - caller: Scam caller

Don't fall for this one, it’s definitely not Barclays contacting you. Honestly, the reviews here near the top sound like they’re made up by the scammers themselves, it’s laughable. Stuff like "They asked me loads of security questions, which makes sense" or "They helped me out real quick after way too many questions lol" and even "You gotta answer every single question they ask!!!" Seriously? Total nonsense. This is 100% a con. Caller: Scam alert.

There’s no way this is legit. If it was actually Barclays, why on earth would they be calling someone who’s been with HSBC forever? Phone number showing up as 0843 980 0120.

Totally a scam. Got a message telling me to ring this number, but I don’t even have a Barclays account - just a Barclaycard. When I told the person that, they just ended the call straight away. I then phoned Barclays using their official number and they confirmed it’s been a scam going around recently, with crooks trying to get hold of people’s banking info.

Got a text from "NatWest" on 08432893614 asking if I authorised a £5,000 payment. The number’s not real at all. I phoned back and the bloke on the line was really nasty, definitely a scammer. I’ve since reached out to the proper Action Fraud people and contacted both Barclays and NatWest on their official numbers to report it. Honestly, these fraudsters have way too much time on their hands. They should find honest work instead of trying to rip people off. What a total nightmare! - caller ID said NatWest.

Today I got a call from 08432893614 saying my Apple Air account was locked and to unblock it I needed to follow instructions. Thing is, I don't even own any Apple Air account! I've started forwarding all these dodgy texts straight to Action Fraud. Can't believe people fall for this stuff. Hopefully, the authorities sort these scammers out soon. - Caller said they were from Apple.

Got a text from Barclays saying there was an online payment on my account that I hadn’t authorised. I rang them up and they sorted it pretty quickly, took about half an hour. They asked loads of security stuff, which I get - you wouldn't want your bank chatting to a random if they weren't sure it was you. So yeah, that made sense! - caller: Barclays

Got a text from Barclays saying there was an online payment on my account that I definitely didn’t authorise. I got in touch with them and they sorted it out pretty quickly, maybe about half an hour. They asked me a bunch of security questions, which seemed fair enough since they needed to make sure it was actually me. I mean, you wouldn’t want the bank chatting with some random person pretending to be you, so it’s understandable! - from Barclays

Those Nigerian scammers almost tricked me into handing over a load of cash, but this site really helped me dodge that bullet. If only I could catch the people behind those calls - they said they were from Barclays.

I just got a message from this number claiming to be from Barclays, urging me to call them if I hadn’t tried to send £3200.

It seems like this is a recurring issue for many. Is there any way to erase this number and perhaps provide a warning to its owner?

I noticed a transfer of £1200 from my account linked to Barclays Bank, but the thing is, I don't even have an account with them! This has got to be some sort of scam, doesn't it? Utterly ridiculous!

I shot off a text asking if I had transferred £1,200.00, and it said if it was a 'yes', press Y. If not, pressing N would automatically dial a number, and I'm starting to think it’s dodgy. Quite a worry!
