Got a call from someone saying my Council Tax was too high and that I might be due a refund dating back to 1996. They asked for £79 upfront, but I wasn’t comfortable giving my bank info over the phone. Once I said no, they just said fine and ended the call without trying to convince me otherwise. It was pretty straight forward, no pressure or anything, just hung up.
