Got a call about some bank fees or whatever. The bloke on the other end was really slurring his words and kept chuckling, I reckon he was well drunk! Kept calling me Mr something, and I’m definitely not an MS or anything!

I recently had an unpleasant experience whilst attempting to pursue a PPI claim. The woman I spoke with had quite a strong northern accent and didn’t hesitate to give me attitude. To make matters worse, she outright declined to share the name of her company. Not the most professional interaction, to say the least!

I politely declined, and she wished me a pleasant day before hanging up. It struck me as rather suspicious; had I engaged, it might’ve spiralled into an identity theft scheme. An Indian woman rang, claiming to represent 'UK Business Solutions' on behalf of the UK government. However, the call quality was dreadfully poor-oh, the joys of Skype, eh? They were inquiring about a manager and when I probed a bit further, it appeared they were rummaging through notes as if they had no clue about the company they were calling on behalf of. When pressed, the caller maintained a composed facade, but it was evident they were following a rehearsed script. It all felt rather fishy to me. The number in question was 08430500626.

I received a call from a chap with an Asian accent, identifying himself as Colin from the Highways Department, regarding an accident that, frankly, I've never had. I must confess, I was rather taken aback and ended up losing my temper on the phone! It seems like I've been inundated with calls today - no fewer than eight from these chancers and spammers. It's baffling why the Telephone Preference Service isn't doing more to thwart them. I can only assume they simply choose to disregard it! I just had a peculiar phone call from this number, saying it was regarding a potential claim for an accident I supposedly had in the last three years. Me: Which accident are you referring to? Caller: The most recent one. Me: Can you provide me with more details? Caller: Sorry, I can't, it's against the Data Protection Act. Me: Well, for my own Data Protection, I'm not giving you a word. About a year ago, I had to summon the RAC to help me out of a rather embarrassing predicament I found myself in, stuck in a ditch. Ever since that day, I’ve been persistently pestered, almost weekly, regarding some alleged accident claim. During the last call, I played a little dumb, saying I had no clue what they were on about, and to my surprise, the relentless ring-a-ding seemed to quieten down for a bit. However, to my annoyance, I've just received another call from a number I promptly blocked on my iPhone. I raised my concerns with the RAC, mentioning that they shouldn't be sharing my details with this lot, but they denied it outright. It’s safe to say I won’t be using the RAC ever again. In 2011, I found myself involved in an unfortunate incident, and it appears that some staff members from a well-known insurance firm in Norwich decided to sell off my details to various claims companies. Although those employees have since been let go and the company has offered a rather lacklustre apology, it hasn't effectively stopped the relentless barrage of calls I'm receiving on my personal mobile-three to four times daily, no less! On top of that, I’m bombarded with incessant text messages that are simply infuriating. Isn't there a way to hold these firms accountable for misusing stolen information, potentially breaching the Data Protection Act? I've been receiving relentless calls regarding an accident I was involved in a couple of months back. The latest incident was quite unsettling; a chap named ‘Joshua’ actually threatened me! He stated quite bluntly that he would not remove my details from their system, and unless I decided to file a claim, I could expect regular calls from him and his colleagues for up to three years. When I asked if I could speak with his supervisor to lodge a complaint, he flat-out refused, claiming he was far too busy to assist.

Received a call regarding an accident from a couple of years back that was sorted out with our insurance pretty quickly. The chap was rather presumptuous, addressing my wife by her first name without properly introducing himself or explaining his purpose. When I pressed him for details, he mumbled a couple of names that I couldn’t quite catch. I mentioned that we weren't interested in receiving calls about the accident, and he abruptly cut me off while I was still mid-sentence (and mind you, I was being quite civil!). Quite frankly, how impolite! In hindsight, I do regret my politeness.
