Spoke to this guy Dave, he's selling shares that come in plastic bags. I ended up buying a hundred of them for 50 quid, just for shopping stuff. Seems like a friendly bloke from India.

Just adding to what I said earlier: it also included area codes 0284 and 0876, but nowhere did it say what the charges would be. Are we heading towards a point where all these calls make the whole phone system pointless to use?

A mate sent me a text about the 0809 area code, warning that it’s some scam where they pretend a relative’s in trouble or worse and urge you to call back straight away. Don’t fall for it! If you ring them, it can cause delays that end up costing you a fortune. My friend said the calls actually connect to the Dominican Republic and the charges can go up to £1500 a minute. Because you’re the one who calls back, your phone company hits you with the bill! Proper dodgy, so just ignore it.
