08081965550 - I always avoid answering calls from numbers I don’t recognise. If it really matters, they’ll leave a voicemail or reach me through a text or email. There’s been a rise in fake ‘Messenger’ messages from so-called friends asking for help or a favour, which usually means they want money. To be sure it’s genuine, ask something only your true mate would know.

0808 280 3007 rang my landline with an automated message saying there was a security warning from Santander. The voice said to call back or they’d ring again later. It even used my full name in the message. sounded like a proper automated female voice, so it felt legit. I checked my account just to be sure and everything seemed fine.

0808 280 0401 First they send a message pretending to be from Santander warning you that another number will text you soon. Then this new text says there’s a suspicious transaction trying to go through on your credit card and asks you to reply y or n. They also give that number to ring instead. Don’t respond at all, as replying could prove your phone belongs to you and might be used fraudulently.

Got a voicemail claiming to be Santander with some urgent info. Yeah right, as if! I've gone ahead and blocked the number already.

I thought it was Paypal at first. They said there’s a delay on a pricey phone order (£840) that we never made. They asked to get in touch within 24 hours to get a refund. Claimed the item would show up on our account in a couple of days. Weirdly, they had our actual landline number in there. How did they even get hold of our info? The number at the bottom of the email was 08082711014.

Got a call from 08081960468, someone said they were from the bank warning about unauthorised use on a debit card. Sadly, my wife ended up giving them some info. Seems like no money's gone missing so far, but we've blocked the card and are changing loads of passwords just to be safe.

08082801101 kept sending me loads of texts and even rang me a few times with a recorded message, claiming to be from Santander’s fraud team. They said there was an urgent message and told me to ring them back on some 0800 number. I smelled a rat straight away and just hung up. No proper bank would send urgent alerts through recorded calls, or ask you to press any button to call them back. Definitely a dodgy scam, I’m staying well clear of it.

I found this number on some shipping info claiming to be from Keto Pro Ex’s customer support. I got some pills sent to me that I never asked for, and they already charged my card. Now I'm out of money and had to alert my bank about an unknown charge. It’s such a hassle having to cancel my cards and all. Be really careful with those random ads that pop up when you’re browsing online. Looks like I’ve been scammed.

Got a call from 0808 1647972 on my mobile. I just ignored it since I always think 0808 numbers are dodgy and probably scammers!

0808 506 4517 - Some scammer claiming to be from PayPal called me. When I asked about getting a refund, they just went ahead and changed my account password and charged my mate's card since I didn’t have my own. Lost £95 because of it.
