Got a call from someone claiming to be O2, sounded like an Indian woman. She was trying to rope me into a 40% slash on my monthly bill, and I’m already paying only £8 a month! I asked her several times if she was really from O2, but all she said was I need to confirm by email before moving on. Told her I’d just call O2 myself to check the offer. She warned me I’d lose the deal if I hung up. Total scam, anyone? Why would O2 just call and hand out huge discounts like that? If it sounds a bit dodgy, it probably is!

Someone claimed they were calling from O2, which is who I get my phone service with. He even said the last three digits of my number and promised a discount for a year. But I actually switched from O2 to EE a couple months ago. I just told him he had it wrong and ended the call. They called me at 2.36 this afternoon and just hung up after ringing a few times. Can’t say for sure if it’s a scam or not, but it’s probably a scam since there’s no real reason for anyone to get in touch. I’m living with my family right now, no bills or contracts in my name, so if someone was calling it should only be friends or family.
