I got one of those dodgy emails too, saying PayPal was gonna withdraw over £600 from my account. Definitely don't ring any of the numbers they give or reply to that message. Instead, go straight to the official PayPal site to check your account and you can even forward the suspicious email there to report it. Just be careful not to click on any links inside that email, they're likely rubbish.

I got this dodgy email saying there’s some money waiting for me on my PayPal account and asking me to call a number if I suspect it’s a scam. When I dialled the number, it went to a place that sounded just like a proper PayPal centre, but it was actually in the States, and PayPal HQ is here in the UK. A quick search of their official contact details showed it wasn’t legit at all.

Just got an email supposedly from PayPal.com, but it’s definitely a scam. Don’t respond to it! Instead, make sure to forward the whole thing to [email protected] so they can deal with it. Stay safe!

Beware, this is a total SCAM. I got an email that looked like it was from PayPal saying my account was hacked, and they said they'd charge me £625 for Asda gift cards. The email came from [email protected]. I rang my bank to check and they confirmed there's no such payment. Whatever you do, don’t call the number they provide - it’s a premium line that just connects you straight to scammers.

WATCH OUT, IT’S A SCAM!!! Got an email claiming to be from PayPal saying there’s a bill for £625.00 GBP. The message said my account was hacked and that amount was taken for ASDA Gift Cards. It even said this charge will show up in my payment history within a day. They told me to ring +44 808 196 3275 ASAP or go to the “PayPal Support Centre” if I didn’t make the payment. The email said their hours are 6am to 9pm every day. Totally fake, don’t fall for it!

Got a call from someone saying they were from a home care company. They mentioned I had a direct debit policy for three items that supposedly needed renewing. They told me to ring this number if I wanted to cancel it, otherwise I'd miss out on a 35% discount!

Got a text from someone called "tm-billing" saying i'd ordered a Canon camera from Amazon for £2499. They gave an order ID and a phone number to ring if it wasn't me. I'm pretty sure this is a dodgy scam because I definitely didn't order anything on Amazon and my account hasn't been hacked or anything. Feels like a classic scam to me.
