There was a helpline number provided, so I decided to call it. A woman with a noticeable foreign accent answered, claiming to work for Amazon’s fraud team. She requested my bank details and email address to supposedly prevent any further withdrawals from my account. Naturally, I kept my information to myself!

Got a message saying I purchased a camera for £3969.99 with an AMZ ref 1519211052 and should call their support at +448081964438 if I had any issues. Obviously, I haven’t ordered anything like that! From what I’ve read in other reviews, loads of people are getting the same camera scam. Big warning - stay away from Amazon links in these kinds of texts!

So today, I apparently dropped nearly £4,000 on a Canon EOS R6, which sounds a bit wild. Reckon they’d need to confirm my info first though, so I double-checked my bank - thankfully no charges. I’m just gonna block the number and report it now.

I got a text from some scammer pretending to be Amazon, saying I bought a camera for £4000. Obviously, I never did. Since then, I've spent ages ringing them to mess about. They only seem to have a few people working there. After flooding their lines with countless calls, they eventually blocked my number. The best bit was when they threatened to call the cops on me for wasting their time - what a joke!

Just like a lot of folks here, I ended up with a Dell laptop. Honestly, if I had my choice, I wouldn't have gone for a Dell at all. Bit disappointed, to be honest.
