Got a text saying my order for a NortonLifeLock firewall worth £599.99 was confirmed. It told me to call +44 8081964145 to cancel or get details. No message history or anything. I've never had a Norton account, so I knew right away it was dodgy. I looked up the NortonLifeLock website on my laptop, and there wasn’t any phone number like that listed. Checked my bank too, and no charges had happened. Just ignored it since it’s obviously a scam. Totally a SCAM SCAM SCAM.

I looked up the number and saw it was free to ring, so I called it. Turns out, they were attempting to use my phone number to reset my Amazon password, which would send a one-time code by text - that’s the whole point for them. I managed to keep the person on the line for as long as possible before they finally gave up and ended the call. Gotta say, fair play to me for sticking with it!

Got a text claiming I was charged £349.99 for Norton Life. I called the number they gave, and the guy asked me to give my full debit card details to sort out the refund. I told him just to put the money back on the card they charged. He kept insisting on getting the card number though. I ended up giving him the first four digits of a card I have, but it wasn’t the right one, so we just dropped it there.
