I got a call from this number earlier today and, honestly, I wasn’t surprised to find out it was Eon. I ended my contract with them more than a year back and shut down my account. Now, they're claiming I owe them a big sum, which just isn’t true. They keep harassing me and even rang my Mum’s phone, which is gutting because she died only a few days ago. Absolutely appalling behaviour from them.

For like two years now, I’ve been getting calls from people saying they’re with eon next. But honestly, it’s a total scam. I’m actually underage, never worked a day in my life or had to pay bills. They keep pestering me nonstop. Whenever I block one number, they ring from a different one and flood me with texts about some unpaid debt. I was only 15 when it all started!!!

Yeah, that number is actually E.ON Next. I got a call from them about an unpaid bill, and they had all my details spot on. The bloke on the phone was really nice and fair, totally got why I couldn’t sort the payment right away.

Someone rang saying they were from Eon Next and wanted to confirm some security details. I asked how I was supposed to know they were legit and said they should know something about me. They kept saying all calls are recorded, I told them I record mine too. Had to repeat myself a few times coz their English was so hard to understand. They just muttered something and then hung up. If this really is Eon Next, why do they seem to use call centres full of people who struggle with English? Seems like Eon Next isn’t the best company to deal with anyway.

They somehow knew my full name, which was odd, and messaged me saying it was urgent to call. I checked my messages and realised genuine EonNext texts come from a completely different number. Honestly, feels like a total scam and I’m fed up with these dodgy callers pretending to be legit.

When I picked up next time, I told the lady on the phone that Eon told me this number’s a fraud - she didn’t even try to deny it! Make sure to block this number and don’t give them any of your info. If you do ring it back, there’s a fake greeting saying it's Eon and that “calls may be recorded” to make it sound genuine, which might fool some folks.

BEWARE, THIS IS DEFINITELY A SCAM, BEST NOT TO PICK UP This number has rung my home phone two times now. Each time, I picked up after about three rings, but the call just dropped straight away. Sounds like one of those auto diallers blasting out calls to loads of people all at once. The system picks up whoever answers first and then shuts down the rest of the calls. A legit company wouldn’t just hang up the moment you pick up, they’d actually talk to you. So yeah, this one’s dodgy for sure.

This number rang me up today, and there was a lady with a really thick Indian accent I could hardly make out. I also heard a bunch of other voices in the background, which made me think something fishy was going on. I just said it was the wrong number and ended the call. Afterwards, I jotted down the number to look it up here.

I suspect this is definitely a scam; I consistently receive calls from this number just moments after getting a call from another unfamiliar mobile number that pesters me day in and day out. This number rang me loads of times pretending to be from E-On. I actually have an E-On account, but I never agree to any security checks over the phone and just tell them I'll get in touch directly. I double checked with E-On and they said they’ve no record of these calls so it’s totally a scam. Best thing is to just hang up!

Got yet another random call pretending to be from the emergency blood and transplant service, so I just blocked it. If you get calls like this, block them too and hopefully starve them out - they could be stopping a crucial blood transfusion for someone who really needs it. I’ve reported it to Ofcom and BT, hoping they’ll track down these annoying scammers and take action.

Sounds like it might be a scam to me. Got a voicemail claiming to be from Eonnext, spoken by a female voice that was too polished, no pauses like a real person chatting. The message mentioned they needed to talk about my account and gave several options to press. Felt quite dodgy, like a phishing attempt, though it could have something to do with smart meters. Before the message started, I heard some background noise that sounded like a busy call centre, which I think was part of the recording.

They kept pushing for my card info, saying I’d get hit with a late fee if I didn’t pay right then. I said I’d just sort it on the app, but they just wouldn’t stop nagging until I ended the call. Tonight I’ve decided to block 0808 1509002 on my phone. It might actually be a legit call from Eon, since I know energy companies are pushing hard nowadays to get folks to install smart meters. However, I told them ages ago I’m not interested, yet they keep ringing me like they’re hassling me on purpose. They rang a couple times so when it rang around 5.30pm, I picked up. There was someone with an Indian accent asking, "Hello, is this (my first name)?" I said no and then they just hung up straight away! Pretty clear it was a scam try.

Got two calls from Eon at about 6.40pm, but their office closes at 5pm. The guy said his name was Keegan and wanted to chat about my account. Funny thing is, I did speak to a Keegan last week, but judging by this site, it defo wasn't the same person.

Got a call today around 5.40pm from someone named Zia, claiming to be from Eon.next about my energy account - sounded like they had an Indian accent. When I asked what it was in regards to, they said it was about my energy account and that I had to answer some security questions before they could go on. I wasn’t comfortable with that at all so told them I wouldn’t answer anything and ended the call. Wasn’t shocked to see here that it was a scam when I looked it up afterwards.

I didn’t give anything away - the caller then said they were from Eon Gas, which was a dead giveaway cos I don’t even have gas with them. Got a similar call from them about a week ago, again I wouldn’t share any details and told them to send me the details by email instead, but surprise surprise, no email ever showed up.

Today, Wed 4/10/23 at about 09:40, I got a call from 08081 509002 while I was already on the phone, but I didn’t pick up. I’m currently sorting out an old bill with E.on Next that I’ve been paying off for over six months, after switching to Octopus Energy. My last payment should clear the debt next month. They've called me before from different numbers (though I can’t find that one now), but I usually just hang up and tell them the direct debit is set up to clear it, so they should stop calling me! I’m based in Brighton, Sussex.

got a call from someone saying they were from EON, asked for my date of birth and the first part of my address plus postcode 'for security', sounded legit so i stupidly gave it to them. asked why they were calling and they said my account had an overdue balance and no meter readings done recently. they wanted me to pay £14+ right then over the phone but i said no and i'd pay at the post office instead, which i did a couple hours later. now feeling worried about what they might do with the info i gave, definitely a SCAMMER, no doubt about it.
